BEST SUSHI

I've been going to Amenoni for years now. It seems like this is the hottest sushi spot . They always has some new and fun ideals that hasn't been done yet. The last time I visited Sushi Chef Kenji was in the sushi bar cutting a whole blue-fin tuna at the sushi bar . The tuna looked like it had just been caught that day, I've never seen anything like that befor. I've never been disappointed in the food or the service. I love they big sister restaurant (Azia) next door will continue to go back and tell all of my peps.

Tasty Sushi!

As a frequent patron of Azia Restaurant, I decided to try out Anemoni. What a pleasant surprise! The oysters are amazing here, as are the sushi. The atmosphere is more relaxed than Azia, the waitresses are attentive and service is fast. This is also a great place for late night dining as they serve sushi until 12 am. Their happy hour specials are great too! Getting the normal cocktails, like the Sake Cosmo, for $7 or beer for $3. The music is great, the sushi is fresh, and definitely a fun time! I would go there next time as an alternative to Azia!

Worst service

My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night around 8:30pm without making reservations. The host said there weren't any tables available, but that we could sit at the sushi bar, which was fine with us. We did notice a lot of empty tables once we were seated, but didn't really care. Our intent was to order a lot of oysters and a little sushi.

The server took awhile (about 5-10 minutes) to visit us and bring the menus. When asking about the oysters, she did not know what was in stock nor did she have any recommendations. We ordered a dozen oysters (cost: $2.70 per oyster), which were GREAT. The sushi was average. The kitchen was out of Toro, which was disappointing.

The reason we will never return was the service. The server never came back after giving us the oysters to see if we liked them or if we wanted to order more (which we did). She also walked away in the middle of being asked a question (I was asking for Tabasco sauce) and never offered to get us a second drinks (by the way, the drinks are spendy- $13 for a martini and $12 for Johnny Walker Black. I told the manager of our discontent. He apologized and was very attentive the remainder of the meal. The server apologized as well and offered us deserts to make it up to us. We thanked her for acknowledging the poor service and for the desert offer, but explained that we neither of us liked desert. While we were waiting for the bill, the manager brought our two deserts. Nether of us wanted any, but we each ate a bite to be polite. We were charged for the deserts on the check, and were over charged for the sushi and the oysters as well. After the check was fixed, we paid it and were happy to leave. The whole night was so focused on the bad service and the constant mishaps that the food didn't matter.

Altogether, for 12 oysters, 2 sushi rolls and 2 cocktails, the bill was $104. It was not worth it when we could have had a nicer meal and much better service for the price.

Down-tempo world lounge music entertains the swanky Eat Street customers delving into specialty rolls, oysters and a deep sake menu.
