abrupt, irrational, and just nasty.

i worked at downtowndogs for about three months and from day one i felt as if i was walking on eggshells. I believe there should be some level of trust and respect from a company, not only for their customers, but also for their employees. There was no compassion or understanding when i needed it the most. My ending at downtowndogs was abrupt, irrational, and just nasty. Here is my story. I became extremely sick. I had called into work one day. I didnt feel at the time it was necessary to go to the doctor. The following day i was feeling even worse. So i called in again saying it was absolutely necessary that i went to the doctor. I was told if i did not find anyone to cover me OR if i didnt come in i would be terminated. I couldnt find anyone to work for me and i had to go to the doctor. I was told how inconsiderate i was and how i put them in a very bad position. I didnt go to work that day, instead i went to the doctor. Where i was told based on my test results if i would have waited any longer i would have been in the hospital. Long story short, i fell extremely sick (almost in the hospital) and downtowndogs (having no understanding or compassion for the situation) terminated me.
Too many dogs, bad smell

everytime my dog comes home, it always smells and it is sad to see the dogs going to the bathroom inside. There are too many dogs and not enough people. it looks like there are 50 dogs in 1 room with 1 person watching them. They always bark and the staff yells at them. We pick up our dog and the bed smelled like urine. i will never go here again.
- Pros: good location
- Cons: it is just a dog factory

?As a contractor I have done several projects for Downtown Dogs. They put quality of work and safety of the dog?s far head of the price to the business in any work they do. I also get to see how they handle the dogs when no customers are present. They are extremely patient and skilled. It?s really a fun place to work. I love watching the dogs play and interacting with them too. It is great working around all of the different dog types and I have definitely developed a group of favorites. If I had a dog I would bring them in a heartbeat.?

I have been taking my dog to this day care ever since he was a puppy and we have absolutely loved it! Two years have passed and I have not one complaint! The staff members are always helpful and very friendly. The facility is very clean considering 100+ dogs are running around there a day which must be a hard task to keep up. A few of my co-workers also take their dogs there and they love it as well! I could not think of a better place to leave my dog for a few hours or a weekends stay. He has so much fun there with all the other dogs! A+ !!!!!!
- Pros: Great service, a wonderful place for your pooch!
- Cons: not sure about the owner, I have never seen him/or her. No other issues.
WARNING!! Find a better, and most likely cheaper place.

I dropped my 10 month old puppy off for a weekend stay instead of letting her stay with friends who wouldnt have charged me, because these people are supposed to be professionals. Also, my dog is still a puppy so I dont trust her with a lot of people. I got her back after 2.5 days and she was so sick she could barely breathe and had green discharge coming out of her eyes and nose.
At first I gave this place the benefit of the doubt, but when I asked for a refund due to the fact that they had never even alerted me to her condition, they refused to do that. If this really were such a "rare" thing for this kennel, I would think that they wouldnt hesitate to be as helpful as possible and refund the $117 I spent for her stay there. I have now spent $400 between boarding fees and vet bills, as well as missed time from work to take my dog in for appointments.
- Cons: sick dog, no alert as to her illness, expensive, poor customer service when brought to their attention
