authentic in all ways. Good wholesome food. Went for lunch, quick service. I had the chicken schwarma which was very flavorful and quite large. Great price for the portion. Only thing was that it was a bit greasy. Flatbread and hummus are also great!

Good food, but horrible service!. I recently had lunch here with my sister. I understand this place is deli style where you order your lunch at the counter, and they bring your food. But, it took 30-40 mins to get our wraps to us. Then instead of a wrap, they gave me a hamburger bun w/o telling me what the story was. So I had to bring up to one of the waitress who told me that they'd recently changed their menu and the cook didn't know. Then she proceeded to clean the table and did not take away my dish or tell me that I was going to get a new order. Waited almost 30 mins before my actual order came out. Good food, but horrible service.

Citysearch Editorial Review. You don’t have to be a student at nearby Macalester College to appreciate the budget-friendly fare at Shish, but it helps. A winning roster of Greek- and Lebanese-leaning fare is made even more appealing by an array of filling options for under $10. As you might expect, mouth-watering falafel sandwiches and tender gyros are among the house favorites here, but don’t miss the fine lineup of kebabs and chicken shawarma. Also, unlike most of the area’s Middle Eastern eateries, Shish offers a worthy breakfast menu, including well-executed omelets, waffles and crepes. It’s a prime place to score fast, fairly nutritious takeout if you call ahead, but the dining room is tidy and welcoming if you’ve got the time to enjoy it.

Great Place for Sunday Brunch. I almost hate to give it away because I can see this place getting really busy! :) The veggie omlettes are wonderful, as are the crabcake bennedict and crepes. Most of these breakfast menu items come with not only well-prepared, delicious centerpiece items, but you will also likely see fresh fruit, pita bread, hashbrowns or fried potatoes, and a mediteranian salad on your plate--all for an extremely reasonable price! This place has a friendly atmosphere. There is outdoor seating too. I tell everyone about this place. It's unique, and everything I have ever eaten here (including dinner) comes out beautiful and tastes sooooooo good.

Great Specials. This is one of my favorite restaurants in St.Paul, especially when I'm on a budget. Try the mousaka or the lamb chops. They are not listed on the menu, but are available on most days. The quality of the dishes are second to none. The service is always friendly, and the chef is a true talent. Follow up dinner with a cup of Turkish coffee. It is always made to perfection.

Best New Restaurant in Saint Paul. As far as dining in Saint Paul goes, this is a masterpiece. From light snacking, to gorging yourself beyond mobility, the food has got it all. My personal favs? The hummus appetizer and Lamb Kabobs. Never fear, however, if you choose to refrain from eating anything with a face, the options for vegetarians are some of the most extensive and delicious in town (or so say my veggie-eating friends, I myself am a strict carnivore). As a local starving college student who cannot stand another bite of cafeteria food, the prices make it affordable for me to dine out. I've also found that unlike some of the more crowded and noisy coffee shops in the area, Shish is the perfect place to cram for my midterm exams. It offers the same espresso options as Coffee News, with half the people. The atmosphere will make you want to come for dinner and stay for dessert!

Falafel to die for!. Prices are very reasonable, food is delicious, service is fast and friendly. Although the restaurant is walk-up style, the decor is still cute and comfortable. Check it out!

The food tastes awesome!!. This is not a romatic date place but it's very cozy and the food is excellent. I have been to at least 4 middle eastern restaurants in the cities and this is by far the best one. Operated by owner and wife, the service is great and again, the food was very very good. I highely recommend it.

Love, love, love this place!. Delicious Middle Eastern fare - try the falafel and hummus - with fabulous prices! It doesn't get much better than this.
