I have been using Bonfe's for over ten years now. They are taking care of my plumbing, heating, electrical and appliance repairs. When I first used them, I thought they were too expensive and went elsewhere for help. After countless issues with quality at other places, I went back to where I started. I just had them out for a toilet repair and they sold me a toilet. I absolutely love it. I've been tinkering with my last one for five years now and Roy convinced me I'd be better off replacing the original 20+ year old product. It flushes better and it uses less water. If you want cheap and inconvenient, go elsewhere. If you don't want to mess around and your time is worth as much to you as it is to me, then by all means, this is the company for you. Also, my past experience has shown me that other companies won't take the blame and make you pay for trips out that might be their fault. Bonfe's always gives me the benefit of the doubt when there's an issue and takes care of me. The others have been complete slobs. These guys are clean neat and proffessional. Thanks Bonfe's

Bonfe plumbing is the plumber for you if you have a bottomless wallet and no concern over what you pay for services. In all fairness, let me say first that the work was done exceptionally well and with no mess. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of not obtaining quotes for some pre-planned service. What could disconnecting a toilet and sink and reconnecting them two weeks later with the same toilet and sink cost? Besides, with the $25 dollar off coupon that Bonfe offers. we figured it was a great deal. Well, the cost is more than you might think! We ended up paying about $850.00 for the work, which took no more than a total of one hour and in general, no parts needed to add to the overall cost. Talk about sticker shock! The return job to hook the toilet and sink back up cost double what the initial work cost. We were also presented at the time of the work with the opportunity to sign up for an expensive service plan. We contacted the company after the service only to be told by the individual who answered the phone that she "didn't have the paperwork to look at." In the end, all I can do is caution, buyer beware! Avoid the mistake we made. Get estimates and research your service provider!

EDIT: 8/28/2008 I want to relate that after Pete Bonfe became aware of a complaint I had (with the price of the service and the faucet that was installed) he did all that he could to make things right (partial refund, put in a different faucet and gave me 1 year of their Bronze Plan for free. He was very gracious and helpful and concerned that I be totally satisfied with the resolution. I was satisfied with the outcome and thought Mr. Bonfe was terrific! linkath

Pros: The plumber arrived sober and he was cute.

Cons: Everything else. Especially the exhorbitant price. Another plumber said he would charge $129 (vs $1228).

I called for some fairly basic plumbing repairs and was blown away by the obscenely expensive quote. While the technician was there for the quote, he tried several times to sell me an expensive service plan and also tried to talk me into other 'upgrades' that were clearly unneccessary. Estimates from two other plumbers came in at 1/4 the price that Bonfe's had quoted.

My usual plumbing company was not able to respond to my call because they were so busy so I decided to call Bonfe. They were available to come out that morning and the person that answered the phone was very pleasant. I found out why they were available. Who wants to pay their rates??? I had a simple leaky tub faucet and the person that came over told me I should replace it even though I figured out that he hadn't even looked at the problem. The replacement cost for parts and labor???? $973. I then asked them just to fix it and they charged me $312 for about 30 minutes worth of labor and $30 worth of parts. Then they told me I needed a Thermocouple on my water heater which is a $12 part online. Their cost for about 10 minutes worth of work and parts? $200! Since I wasn't home I had given them a credit card before they came out so the card was charged for the service. I followed up with several calls to discuss it with them and the receptionist told me they would call me back. I am still waiting!!! Also, the work was not good. The tub still has a slight leak, the handle was on upside down, and he left without making sure the pressure relief valve on the water heater was off so I had a flood in my basement. By the way. The same repairs by my usual plumber for the same faucet in my other bathroom was $115 which was about 1.5 years ago. BUYER BEWARE! Go somewhere else!!!

I suggested this company to my own Mother, my reason was the great experience I had with Bonfe's Auto Repair. It wasn't until a few months after this mistake had I found these companies were run by different siblings. The "Tech" sent out first talked my mother into buying a completely rediculous "savings plan" that would "save her money with the work needed on her plumbing system. Because of the Terms & Conditions of this review with Citysearch I can't go into detail about the damages or liable behavior, I really want to though!!! This repair cost over $1400 dollars when said and done. $1400 dollars for a sloppy and neglectful job. My Mother has a "repair plan" she would never use if all the other plumbing companies closed up in town. All I can say in addition is I still feel badly that I put my Mother through this experience and I hope this prevents someone else from having to deal with this feeling. The auto garage by the same name is great though! Oh! And, My Mother had to clean up thier mess!

Pros: I have nothing good to say.

Cons: All around bad expeirience!
