Saturday 09/18/10. I have been to numerous W hotels as a hotel guest, and strictly visiting the nightlife offered. I reside in Dallas, TX where a W Hotel with Ghostbar exist. I have visited Both New Orleans locations, Atlanta-Buckhead, Vegas, and Dallas numerous times.

The price for drinks is insane and ridiculous, a kettle one and redbull for 14 dollars, a shot of (polish) blackberry brandy for 10, give me a break.

The crowd was ridiculous, there was no kind of line, no doorman, just a basic free for all in the living room. You need a doorman just to keep the crowd under control, make a line, the independent in uptown was notorious for creating a fake line, even though no one was inside. Keep this crowd down. Asked about bottle service since we were there after a wedding with the bride and groom, and bridal party, and no one was able to be found. We arrived about midnight and I noticed people were still in chairs sitting at the bar, made it very difficult to order a drink. Get rid of the chairs at 10pm. It was definately an older crowd, 40+, lots of old men looking for younger women which seemed to be sparse.

While walking to the elevator, noticed numerous empty glasses from the living room to the elevators.

15 minutes later made it up to Prohibition. As I have been at previous W properties, there were not specific elevators to get to the 27th floor. Hotel guests were forced to ride with randoms. Upon arrival at Prohibition, crowd was thin, open tables and chairs everywhere, male bartender did find polish for me, but the charge for it was crazy. Good views from the foor. Music was good.

I would go again, but only to prohibition. Need to work on the basics to get this place in order.

come on. Give them a break. How many cool, hip hangouts does Minneapolis have. Only a stumble from Manny's, the W Bar is loud, packed and enjoyable. Reading their reviews,... the edgy hot folk they attract are also demanding.

5 star food 0 star service. My event at the W Hotel looked beautiful and the food was absolutely outstanding. Unfortunately service did not measure up. Upon arrival I was promptly introduced to my waiter. I was told to inform him of my needs. Frantically rushing around, he looked dazed, confused and completely preoccupied. It made me feel as if something was wrong or about to go wrong. Having some questions I tried to touch base with my waiter. Throughout my event every time I needed him he was not available. (This was incredibly frustrating) Eventually someone was gracious enough to retrieve him for me. It was at that time he approached me red faced and looking furious. He then acted very short and completely disregarded my questions. This event was quite costly and I feel it should have included respectful treatment and professionalism. If I wanted to tolerate behavior like this I would have stayed home with my teenage step children.

Letch Service At Your Side. I went to a party and The W must stand for Wow! What a swanky place, trendy yet decadent. Wait staff seemed nice but too flirtatious. Service was flippant, sloppy and inept. My server reeked of smoke. Ashtray appetizers anyone?

The W Hotel's lounge is an elegantly classy yet decidedly modern affair.. In Short
Located on the 27th floor or the historic Foshay Tower (which is now the chic W Hotel), Prohibition gives dark and swanky a new name. Right as the art-deco elevator dings and opens its doors, guests are greeted by a bustling bar and shiny windows that overlook the entire city. As soon as your eyes adjust, you spot loungers gathered in little groups, imbibing on wine and fruity martinis. Leather chairs encircle short tables for intimate gatherings, and couches in corners offer even cozier encounters. The bartenders wear tuxedo shirts with bow ties, but the vibe is far from stuffy. In fact, looking out over the city from this 1920's masterpiece of architecture, Prohibition feels equally expansive and thrilling as it does warm and comfy.

The shoe doesn't fit. It was cool in some ways, but it seems to be trying to hard. It was like everything was making a point of being ultra-sophisticated and trendy. The Foshay building has a timeless elegance that suits Manny's well, but the same can not be said of the W Hotel.

Looking for a Fight? The W Hotel is the place!. I was there last Thursday and some drunk guys came in. They started yelling, and I thought the Security Guards were going to pepper spray the hole place! Psycho! Who would have thought that a totally pretentious atmosphere would bring out the worst in people.
