Not a bad thing to say!
by ShanNic
This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time! I have been in the restaurant business for 20 years, so I can recognize a wonderful place when I see one! You can not beat the value. The food tastes amazing and I am not aware of any other similar establishments. The wait for a table is never too long. They also have a quaint country store to shop and browse in while you wait. The goods they sell in the store are a great value as well and of very good quality. I think this is the last Cracker Barrel left in the Twin Cities and I hope they are here for a very long time!
- Pros: everything
- Cons: nothing
Just like going to Grandma's House
by swirlgal01
You are seated promptly, and greeted by friendly servers. You can order breakfast all day long. Everything I've eaten tastes just as good if not better than Grandma's cooking. Their prices are more than reasonable and you will not go home hungry. In fact you will probably take food home. They have so many choices that you can't just get everywhere. Turnip greens, pinto beans, apple butter, grits, corn bread, lima beans, Chow-Chow, dumplings, and a hashbrown casserole dish that will make you never eat plain hashbrowns again. A rich brown beef based gravy and the best Sawmill gravy you just have to sample. They serve Stewart Rootbeer and Orange soda in frosty mugs, and have a different cobbler treat everyday. Best tasting coffee at $1.39 a cup and you can purchase some to take home from their store. That's right they have the best darn shop with affordable prices and charming antiques scattered around the place. Don't forget their is a real fireplace that is always burning and rocking chairs outside to sit on for as long as you like and one table inside right by the fireplace to play checkers too! If you have youngsters they have the best children menu in town and they are always welcome.
- Pros: great tasting food, very affordable and extremely helpful staff
- Cons: not one
