This was THE most amazing dinner that we have had in years. The food is spectacular. The beer and wine selection is extravegant and the staff impeccable. The gal who took care of us during dinner "Laura" knew that we were out on a date and slowed the whole meal down. It was a flawless 3 hour dinner that just amazing. I would never hesitate to go back or to try anything on their menu, I'm sure it's perfect!
Pros: It's the most amazing restaurant, it rivals Kincaids of St. Paul and Manny's of Minneapolis
Cons: I wish there was a more private dining experience for romantic evenings

We have been to Jensen's many times. A friend turned us on to Jensen's years ago and we love him for it! Last time we visited was for my parents' 30th anniversary. They had a big party for their 25th and wanted something simple with just our immediate family. I immediately thought of Jensen's and booked a reservation. We are always treated like valued guests, royalty even when we come in the door. I don't mean to sound cheesy, but the service is just top notch. They TRULY understand who pays their bills, the customers. The drinks at Jensen's are superbly made and very generous. They can creep up on you so be careful! My mother ordered steak and lobster and was very pleased. The rest of our food, including a selection of family sides were all wonderful. Their salad with mandarin oranges is fabulous. I just read a review that mentioned poor service and was very surprised. In all the times we have been to Jensen's, we have always had attentive, efficient service. People arrive at the tables to remove plates and fill water glasses at just the right time. The servers are all very class acts and deserve every bit of the tip we leave. If you want a simple dinner on a Tuesday night or an special Saturday night out with your friends and family, Jensen's will not let you down.

My partner and I have dined at Jensen's about five times in the past two years, and have been impressed each and every time. Most recently, however, we chose Jensen's as the spot to host a large family event over New Year's 2008, where we had a group of 12 in attendance. We were served promptly and with the kind of grace that you expect of a real supper club. Our server, Linda, was extremely skilled as are all of the service staff at Jensen's, and our entire dinner went off perfectly. Jensen's is an excellent place to host an event for a group because the layout allows for privacy. We were seated in a an area that was architecturally closed off from the main dining room, so we felt cozy and warm, and even though it was a large group, the setting was intimate. The food was incredible, beginning with the mandarin salad that stands out because of its fresh citrus, then on to the popovers which are melt-in-your-mouth good. Several of us had the prime rib, and my partner had the sirloin steak. Without exception, we were impressed with the quality and flavor of the food. The sides were simply excellent. The wine list at Jensen's is outstanding. My partner had a delicious red with his sirloin, a perfect match. Dessert was their signature raspberry bread pudding. This is a bread pudding that puts all others to shame with its delicious delicate crust, through its creamy and warm center that is bursting with raspberries. Dinner at Jensen's was the seminal event of my family's New Year Holiday, and there is no other restaurant that I could trust so completely with the details of an event. As long as I choose Jensen's, I know I can relax because they will take care of my guests. That feeling, that you have provided your guests with a truly excellent dining experience, is a wonderful one. This is without a doubt my favorite dining experience in the Twin Cities. ...Border Town Boy, Ron Oveson.
Pros: Privacy for groups, atmosphere, and skilled servers
Cons: parking can be tight on weekends

We certainly picked the right place to take my brother and his wife as a gift of gratitude for the many years they spent giving TLC to Mom. Sitting at a round table with plenty of space between us and other guests was a perfect setting for an evening of fine dining with family. The food exceeded expectations. Our server, Chris, did an outstanding job of selecting wine to compliment our evening. I plan on returning frequently and soon.

This is your classic supper club. Think 1950's or 60's and you wouldn't be surprised if Frank Sinatra was reincarnated and walked in the door with the RatPack. The food won't disappoint and the classic popover is terrific (with honey butter!). The walleye is excellent. I was a little disappointed in the service. We ordered the 'before 6' specials and she pretty much gave us minimum service after that. She visited the table right next to us and walked past us several times without so much as a glance, failing to refill our drinks for many minutes. I called the manager to complain and he was understanding about the situation and promised to address it.
Pros: Classic Supper Club Atmosphere
Cons: Need to have better wait staff - the waitresses seem to be out of their element.

Jensen's Supper Club is a fabulous dining experience. The Prime Rib which have 24 ounce cuts is outstanding. It is the best I have ever had and it's not really all that close. The service is very good at Jensen's. The prices are high but that is to be expected with the quality they serve. They also give freshly made popovers with meals with some sort of sweetened butter-very good. They also have delicious desert options. If you are looking for a classy meal apart from chains - this is a great place too go.
Pros: Excellent Prime Rib-

This was the best anniversary dinner we've ever had! The waiter Owen was phenominal, he really took care of us. This food cannot be beat. It was our second trip to Jensens and it just gets better. The coconut shrimp was the best we've ever tasted, our dinners were the Ribeye and Parmisan Walleye, and once again we've never had it better. Jensens has easily become our favorite restaurant in the cities! And if you go, hopefully you'll get Owen as a waiter!

We had a few problems with our anniversary dinner at Jensens Supper Club last night. DO NOT use the online reservation service. It states the reservation isn't confirmed unless a reply is recieved. I had to call the restaurant to confirm as no reply was sent. I also stated on the reseration that we will be celebrating our anniversay. Jensen's didn't acknowlege it in any way! We felt rushed throughout the meal. After the entree, our waiter, (who already had our bill in his hand) asked if we needed anything else. We didn't dare to ask to see the dessert menu or a cup of coffee. In a positive note the martini's are outstanding!! The coconut shrimp appetizer was very good, as well as the prime rib. The lobster tails were rubbery and overcooked. The bottom line: Jensen's has great potential. I hope we had a rare mixed experience.
Pros: Great martini's, 50's Supper Club feel
Cons: Online reservations, rushed service

My husband and I ate there on New Year's Eve, and I have to say, the food was fabulous. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The only con was that at 35 years old we were absolutely the youngest couple at the restaurant (we even got carded!) The waiter was a bit snobbish - probably thinking we'd stiff him on the tip since we were just kids :) But, the hostess was extremely friendly and all in all we enjoyed the experience.
Pros: great food, cozy ambiance
Cons: , older crowd
