Lunch has always been a favorite - recommend the Kozlak's salad with chicken. A nice place to have good conversation and great food.

Run, Don't Walk Away!

I made what I thought were "coveted" reservations for the Mother's Day brunch. I believe the menu is the same as would be served on any Sunday, but with the addition of a holiday, the price of the meal was increased. After reading several reviews, I felt confident that the buffet would be tasteful, well cooked, and provide ample selection to warrant the price.

I would liken the experience to buying a sump pump during a state-wide flood. We paid a premium for the necessity of taking mom out to dinner. The meal itself was horrendous. The desserts were unrecognizable and inedible. The mimosas were $7.50 and made with cheap champagne. Utterly tasteless. The salad bar consisted of iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese, black olives, cherry tomatoes, and dressings. No meats, no beans, no mixed greens. The "hot" buffet should have been called the "luke-warm" buffet. Nothing was served above room temperature. I actually cried after my mom started to eat her meal, realizing just how awful it was and how much money I was going to have to shell out for one of the worst meals of my life.

The service was non-existent. We had to flag down our waitress several times to get our bill. We wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. I would never recommend this restaurant!!!!! Unless you want to be overcharged for something you could order at a Perkins or Country Kitchen, don't go!

Very Enjoyable

Delightful experience. The staff were polite and friendly. The food was very good and the music entertaining. A very nice way to spend a late Sunday morning.

Very poor customer service

The ambience and food at the restaurant was actually very good. Unfortunately, we most definitely cannot say the same about the customer service. Our group experienced very disrespectful service on the phone when setting up our reservation. While this should have likely persuaded us not to go, we decided to chance it. Unfortunately, the flowers that had been ordered for Valentine's Day meal were not on the table. When I asked the hostess about them, I was told to "settle down sir" and was patted on the arm dismissively. This would have been fine as at the end of the meal I asked the waitress if I could take the matter up with the manager. Much to our surprise and chagrin, the hostess was apparently the owner.

Sunday Brunch Buffet = best deal for your buck

Live jazz music, including intimate performances at your table, really tops off the experience. I would get there early when they open; it's more fun to have the buffet and the musicians all to yourself.

The staff were friendly and polite; not overly endearing, but still genuine.

The food was great, and if you're going to pay $10-$15 for a buffet elsewhere, you should just spend the extra bucks and eat here. The caramel rolls and pancakes with pecan syrup are heavenly. The custom-made-to-order omelet station is a treat, the salad bar is decent...there's something for everyone. The only con is the building's exterior, which makes it look like a dive. Inside, it is anything but. I recommend it for special occasions.

Flowers are everywhere--they even burst out from what looks like an aquarium that sits in the center of the salad bar. Add etched glass windows, garden seating, multicolored lights and you have one of the most romantic restaurants in the Twin Cities. Food is classic American steak-and seafood; the Salmon Royal Oak--salmon stuffed with shrimp--is a house special. Kozlak's older diners appreciate the chance to doll up a plate at the expansive salad bar.

What?

I have to say I go to Kozlak's nearly everyday for lunch and I love it. I have NEVER had an experience like the one mentioned here. We have always had silverware, bread, wonderful service, great food and at a decent price. I couldn't belive the seafood buffet during lent for only $12.95. (And it included scallops.) I always feel welcome at Kozlak's and will continue to enjoy lunches there!

I hope they've improved...

Perhaps I went on a bad night, but my experience was awful. On a slow sunday night I expected that I'd be waited on with some degree of competence. Unfortunately, I was a witness to just about every restaurant service error in the book. The food was good (no complaints), but nothing special. I had pork ribs and mashed potatoes, which I could have gotten elsewhere much cheaper. The prices are generally very high. Go there when it's on someone's business account. Nobody in the place seemed to care that we were there. Sad. I won't go back.

I love Kozlaks!

What a gem! The food is great, the service is great, the place is cozy and romantic... So wonderful in fact my husband and I used their room by the bar for the reception of our wedding! They didn't let us down! Everything was so wonderful! They were even able to move our 7:30 dinner time ahead 20 mins or so for us as we arrived a bit earlier than anticipated. I recommend this place for everyone for a date with your loved one or for a special event. You won't regret it!

Wow!

What an experience. The food, service and price were enough to go home and rave to friends about. I will be back again and again. The waitstaff is excellent, and the food is extraordinary.
