Tasted Like a Hot Pocket
by mattmi01
We went on a Monday evening and sat outside by the water. While the view was nice, the limited bar menu was expensive. Sandwiches were between $10-$13. We got the Walleye sandwich and the grilled chicken panini. Both tasted like a hot pocket. Service wasn't that great either. I'll never go back here.
- Pros: Nice view
- Cons: Expensive, terrible food
Maynards Rogers does not care about you or their service
by Sommer700
I have never had a good experience at Maynards... 2 out of 4 visits my order was completely wrong (and not fixed), waited 20 minutes for a drink order & gave up and went to the bar myself. I could go on and on.... I've sent a letter to the manager explaining why I will never come back and he never even acknowledged it. Forget it, Maynards does not care about you or the service they provide.
- Pros: Can't think of one
- Cons: Too many to list
Seven dollars for one beer, and then you beg the server to bring another
by acsnoozer
Okay food and a nice view of the lake, but the service is terrible. After being seated, we had to beg for every drink refill and the server left all of the used plates to pile up in front of us. If you are going to pay this much money for food and drink you would probably save money by renting a boat. Even the bartender and hostesses were rude to customers. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
- Pros: None
- Cons: Service that makes you feel unwelcome.
awesome food, and views
by brada55306
maynards has always had great food, and service. the lake is an added bonus, and if I had to recommend some items off the menu I would say you must get the waffle fries, and the buffalo chicken wrap... you won't be disappointed. Then go to the bar and get a great drink. The deck is awesome in the summer, but always packed, especially on weekends. The beer is always great.
- Pros: great food, and service always!
- Cons: parking lot is always full
Great Happy Hour
by fluffygirl
The Rogers location is great for happy hour. The menu is inexpensive and has diverse options: spicey green beans, buffalo shrimp, several flat breads, steak bites, lettuce wraps and more. Serice is fairly good.
Brunch was a bust
by betsi100
The Elk River Maynards has the strangest brunch I've every attended. Sweet and sour chicken and chow mein? I wasn' t sure if I was at a Asian "all you can eat" place or brunch. The worst thing, however, was the service which was horrible - we had to beg for coffee and water. I would not recommend this place.
- Cons: Service, food

Diverse menu options--Cajun to American--and a killer view of Lake Minnetonka draw locals to this Excelsior tavern.
Good food Poorly Managed
by ddegidi
Maynard's is a great place to go for dining and relaxing however they lack in proffessionalism.
This restaurant is very busy and thier staff is always stressed and it shows. The management is very unprofessional and short with customers and thier phone edicate is terrible. Go there if you want a good meal, but don't expect to be treated as if you are spending any money, because they just want to turn tables.
- Pros: Lake Minnetonka, Patio
- Cons: , poor management, music outdoors
Non-Pretentious on the Lake
by susani
The best place to hang out in the summer. The beers flow easily on a summer night. It may not be easy to get your own table, but there are always people willing to share. Much better than Flethcher's.
- Pros: The Lake
How can you go wrong?
by lauriewawa
How can you go wrong on the lake? I'm a little biased because I've only boated up and eaten on the wharf which has been a great experience.
The food and drinks are great - yummy pecan crusted chicken salad. I've always had great service, just crowded enough to be lively and of course the view is great. (If you don't mind a fake b**b or two)
- Pros: good food, good natured staff, great view
- Cons: LEATHERY TAN CENTRAL
