Casual, quick Chinese cuisine located in nearly every corner of the Twin Cities.

In Short
Colorfully painted and situated in convenient metro areas, Leeann Chin restaurants are always easy to spot. While some locations have a few tables for those wanting to dine in, it's mainly a take-out business. Boxed salads sit in coolers; the rest of the dishes are pre-made. Popular with the lunch crowd, the place is usually packed at noon. The menu consists of fast takes on traditional favorites like beef lo mein and lemon chicken.

I find Leann Chin's to be overpriced for the food you get. There are better chinese restaurants that are cheaper. There is to few choices for one who does not eat pork or beef.
- Cons: expensive

- Pros: Fast
- Cons: Too Fast
1 Step better than American Fast Food

Im not surprised by the popularity of Leann Chin's with the fast food mentality on the rise and the prices are cheap. I am extremely suprised that it made the top 10 Chinese restaurants. Given the ratings are based on more than food but this is very misleading to anyone visiting that is not familiar with the Leann Chin chain. I would feel very sorry for the person that is looking for some great Chinese food and winds up going to city search and sees Leann Chin's a top pick and takes the family for what they thought was going to be a wonderful Chinese dining experience, with all of the wonderful Chinese/Asian restaurants in the twin Cities area it would be a shame to spend hard earned money on Leann Chins.
- Pros: Fast, Inexpensive
- Cons: Poor Food Quality
the "real" stuff?
by JSpartz
Leann Chin's food is resonably good. But, to consider this as "real" Chinese food misses the mark. If you like Leann's food, you will find the "real stuff" to be quite odd.
overpriced microwaved food

The few times I have gone to a LAC's, service has been more of an afterthought rather than a "customer comes first" as it should be. The portions were decent but overpriced compared to what you normally get at a good restaurant. The quality of LAC food is not a whole lot better than an expensive frozen food in your local grocer's frozen section! My vote goes to Hope's Chinese Restaurant on Central Ave in Fridley. The service is very good--the all you can eat buffet and even individual servings are excellent! Try this out of the way spot and you won't be sorry, unless, of course, you are partial to microwaved food!
- Pros: great buffet, good service, clean
- Cons: ambiance lacking
I can't believe it isn't Chinese!

I almost cried when I saw Leann Chin's take first place on this list. The food has been Americanized so much it isn't even Chinese food anymore. There are places infinitely better for Chinese food. A few places I would recomend looking up would be New Hong Kong Kitchen, Peking Garden or the best of all- David Fong's. Food, service, atmosphere and etc. are all excellent at these restaurants. Mc Donnald's is to American Food as Leann Chin's is to Chinese Food. Treat yourself for some great food and ditch Leann Chin's.
- Pros: None
- Cons: awful food, not Chinese
Bland

If you like food that will not stimulate your tastebuds, Leann Chin is the ultimate restaurant. It's pretty bland, although, on the positive side, there are no real losers, either. Acceptable.
