Margaritas and affordable Mexican fare in a campy, family-friendly atmosphere.
by Katie Heffernan
In Short
Bright colors and big booths make this quick-service, sit-down Mexican restaurant a cheery choice for group outings. The traditional menu--including classic enchiladas, soft and crispy tacos, mesquite-grilled shrimp, sizzling fajita platters and made-from-scratch salsas--features lunch specials, create-your-own combinations and to-go options for more fast-paced patrons. Tequila makes its appearance in house margaritas and cocktails. Bringing the little ones? They're catered to with a kid-friendly, Tex-Mex menu.
Not Authentic
by egsalad
If you are looking for real authentic Mexican food this isn't the place. The chile rellenos batter was spongey, the flautas dry and tasteless. However, the server was wonderful. Not her fault the food does not live up to expectation.
- Pros: Server was wonderful
- Cons: Just not REAL Mexican
This place was dirty.

This place is really weird. The bar was full and the eating area was dirty. The glasses were all spotty and something was floating in my water. I will not be returning.
Blech!

Man, people actually eat there? i went in a couple of times, ate, and proceeded to tell myself, "I'll never go back again." Yes, I was guilty of giving Don Pablo's another look... big mistake! They are over priced, with gross, greasy Mexican food that makes Taco Bell seem authentic! This is the WORST Mexican food I ever had... twice.
Great Food

Don Pablo's has the best Mexican Food in the Twin Cities. The values are great for the Combo meals such as El Presidente and the Matador and the value for what you receive can't be beaten anywhere.
- Pros: Food, Service, Interior
They Changed the Menu
by debrasmith
It is horrible! If you order a fahita it will come surround in rice! Not just the traditional vegetables and meat. I think it is to cut back on costs! Their tortilla soup used to be the best, but the last time we had it it was all salt, broth, and no vegetables, and chicken.
We have traveled to Texas so our favorite mexican place is in West St. Paul, but we live on the other side of town. Don Pablos was our compromise place but now we are looking for a new mexican resturant.
Not on of the better places to eat

My family and I were out for a celebration and went home with saying that we would never eat at this restaurant again. The food was cold was delivered. The server had to many tables to attend to and basically forgot we were even there.
I would suggest they get some quality help or shut its doors.
