Absolutely Terrible!!!

Please don't waste your time or money. I've patronized the Capital Grille for the past 10 years, and I have never seen such a well-founded destination restaurant succumb to bad management practices and corporate ideology than this operation! Walk right on by and dine at Manny's!

• Pros: Maybe I can write off the expense??
• Cons: Too many to list!!

LOBSTER MACARONI N CHEESE

I had the filet oscar adn loster mac n cheese and I thought I died adn gone to heaven it was that good!!!!!!

Next you're there, order the lobster mac n cheese for one of your sides. You will be pleased!

Best Bartenders Ever!!

I have been to the Capital Grille now five times. Everytime I sit at the bar, Christina, the bartender remembers my name, has my drink ready and goes above and beyond to make my dinner exceptional. I love the Delmonico and the Sliced Filet is out of this world! They were out of my favorite vodka one time and Christina proceeded to go to another restaurant to find some for me. She truly cares about her guests and their dining experience. I also met Emily who was without a doubt, amazing as well. I would recommend the Capital Grille for any occasion and always sit in the bar.

Oscar or Delmonico?

I shouldnt say I was surprised because by how good my meal was but I have to say that was thE best steak ive ever had in my life! Dave was beyond knowledgable and I felt welcome from the second I walked through the doors.

Fabulous place to dine!

My husband took me here for our one year wedding anniversary. I knew this place was classy, but it exceded my expectations. From the friendly front desk to the wait staff and our own personal watier, it was first class all the way. They even took our picture and even had it printed and "framed" and all of the staff signed a Happy Anniversary card that was waiting at our table for us. We started off with a free champagne toast and ended our meal with a free dessert to boot! Of course, we both ordered steaks for our meals, which were cooked perfectly and very tender. We will definitely be going back and soon! By far our very best dining experience ever.

hard to beat meals

I have eaten at the capital grille twice, and of the five best meals I've ever eaten in my life those two meals are in the top five. The service was unbeatable and Matthew was very informative and entertaining. I like their steaks and their desserts are to die for. The prices are up there but I would recommend this place for a special occasion date. It is very loud so I would not call it romantic. I also liked the decor and location is close to the theaters.

• Pros: the food, thats why I go to restaurants
• Cons: a little noisy and a little pricey

Great steak place

My boyfriend took me here after I got a new job. It was a great location, offered great customer service and the food was super good. He made reservations and we had a pretty private booth. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice dinner or lunch and is willing to pay a little more for the better customer service.

Upscale and FANTASTIC!

I will be honest in my review- the night I am reviewing was in December 2006. I do realize that things can change in such a long period of time- so please remember that while reading.

We went to The Capital Grille for my birthday celebration last year; we walked in the door to a very warm wonderful greeting by the staff. Once we arrived at our table there was a card sitting there with my name on it- it was a very short and simple "Happy Birthday" signed by the staff working that night. What a great first impression of this place!

We were treated with the utmost respect and had wonderful service throughout our entire visit. Our food was cooked to perfection and full of flavor! At a place the this you can't expect to leave without paying top prices; the food is more than worth it!

I highly recommend The Capital Grille to anyone who is looking for a nice dinner in a fun city. It was a full house, which is always a good thing! The atmosphere was not too loud and not too quite- perfect for a nice meal with some people that I love with all my heart!

3 Times a Lady

I rarely do this..............but 3 times in a row (in the past 3 months) I've had overcooked filet. Ordered Med. Rare and recieve Med Well to Well. I'm really not that picky..........ok I am when it comes to my filet. Really though..............i'd settle for Medium, but not well done when I order it Med. Rare. At least they had the manager talk to me one of the three times this happened. Other than that, the servers were polished and well versed. The location is great and it is a nice atmosphere, but come on..............3 times of screwing up what they should do best???????????? Oh yeah and the dessert was good but not beyond that. Forgive me but after 3 times i'd say check out another place because there are so many good spots in our area.

Best steakhouse in Minnesota!

There are a number of great steakhouses in downtown Minneapolis (Manny's, Ruth's Chris, Morton's, etc). However, Capital Grill sticks out as the best in my mind. This is based on their Delmonico bone-in Ribeye & the ambiance. If you haven't gone, I recommend trying it out for a night with the guys or a romantic date.
