A 25-story white behemoth at the south end of Nicollet Mall.

The Scene
Positioned in a direct face-off with the Millennium Hotel, the Hyatt comes off as modern and sophisticated. The expansive lobby features full-sized potted trees, ample meet-and-greet seating space and an extended front desk. Spring travelers also run a high chance of seeing teens dolled up for prom on their way to and from dinner. Winter travelers can take refuge from the elements in the hotel's tanning salon.
The Details
More of a complex than a mere hotel, the Hyatt Regency houses three upscale restaurants (Taxxi, Manny's and Oceanaire), plus Spike's Bar. The Regency Health Club has an indoor pool and e-business Imaginet. The room accommodations are suited for business and affluent travelers, with many upgraded suites and specially equipped chambers. Nearby tourist spots include the Cathedral of St. Paul and the Institute of Arts.
In the heart of Downtown Mpls--Nicolette Mall

I stayed here for two nights for wedding. The reception room was really decent. However, for a Hyatt Regency, the rooms were so-so. I wouldn't call this luxury in compared to other hotels. For the location, I suppose the price justifies. The beds were nice. The pool was a dinky thing and the fitness center was extra if you want to use the equipment. Nice location for those who want to be right downtown. It's pretty dead on the weekends since it's a finanical district during the week.
- Pros: Good locale
- Cons: Parking is a pain
Great views!

The Hyatt is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis. The hotel is very clean and classy. The rooms near the top of the building have excellent views of the city! The rooms are also comfortable and thoughtful. The staff is friendly and genuine. Parking isn't a problem and it's cheap ($10/day). Plus, there are many good restaurants in, connected to, or near the hotel. The only drawback is the pool area because it doesn't seem to fit the rest of the hotel. It's not quite as modern and luxurious looking as the rest of the hotel. All in all, HIGHLY RECOMMEND :)
- Pros: Views, beds, service, parking, location
- Cons: pool, have to pay to use workout facilities
