Doubletree is Suite
by CindiL at Citysearch
Stayed here to see the Holidazzle parade. It's right on Nicollet Mall on 11th St, next to Brit's Pub. All of the rooms are suites and are very comfortable and clean. The rooms need a new look, but the staff is wondreful. Awesome fitness room.
- Pros: indoor parking, friendly staff
- Cons: older decor
Tucked away off in the Doubletree Nicollet Mall, this jazz bar is unassuming and quietly sophisticated.

In Short
As its name suggests, this is posh, not down-and-dirty jazz. An eclectic mix of small combos play approachable renditions of standards throughout the week. The crush hits its peak when nearby Orchestra Hall lets out for the night, adding a gaggle of dressed-to-the-nines upper-crusties to the mix of jazz loungers and hotel guests happy enough to have stumbled downstairs. Since it doubles as a hotel restaurant, there's a full menu of supper-club standards.
New Owners

Just visiting Minneapolis and was told this was a great place for jazz by another hotel concierge. The hotel was recently purchased and the new owners are renovating. Food was great, I had the "lacquered spare ribs" that are wonderful. Serice was very good and music was awesome. Very intimate feel when sitting in the booths. Next time I come to Minneapolis I will stay at the Doubletree.
- Pros: Music, Free Parking, Easy to find
- Cons: Small
An Alright Time...

Unlike the previous ratings, I rate Cafe' Luxx pretty decently. We were there last weekend and thought that the service/food/music was pretty decent. We were seated promptly and our server were pretty attentive.
The food was not bad at all although I did think that it was a bit expensive for what you get. The live jazz music with live vocals were pretty good.
This is not a crowded/smoky place nor would I consider this as a hot/trendy spot. Overall, it's not bad of a place.
- Pros: Less Crowded, Not Smoky, Good Service/LiveJazz
- Cons: Expensive Food, Not a Trendy Spot, Small Place
