LOVE IT!
by frizzipunk
Although I dined when there was about 8 max other people in the whole restaurant, I ordered Eggs Benedict. Not only was it DELICIOUS (and i have high standard for eggs benny) but it literally came out in 3 minutes!!!! And the quality was suberb! My server was Mel and she was great, it seemed the staff had a sense of urgency and knowledge which is what makes a good restaurant. I've heard great things about Keys Cafe and I finally got to try it out myself and will help spread the word that this place is great! Decor is nice, seating is comfortable, its just a wonderful place to take anyone for a meal. Plus they serve breakfast all day!!!!
- Pros: fast fast service, good food, nice staff
- Cons: none
Minneapolis chain serving lumberjack platters of home-style Midwestern food since 1973.

In Short
Nothing fancy, just lots of it (there must be three potatoes in a plate of American fries). A perennial staple of local "best breakfast" lists, Keys slings hash (roast beef or sausage), steak and eggs, omelets and pancakes (blueberry-bran, raisin-pecan). Besides breakfast, Keys serves burgers, hot and cold sandwiches and motherly comforts such as turkey and meat loaf. In case you want something sweet, the bakery turns out mammoth cookies, pies, caramel rolls and cakes.
Simply The Best
by keysfoshay
Keys is simply the best. The breakfasts. the omelettes. the burgers, the homeade soups, the desserts. You simply cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The downtown location on 9th and Marquette in the revamped Foshay tower is my favorite location. The newest, shiniest and best servers. The win best breakfast every year running. No wonder why!
- Pros: Location, Locale, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
A Bit Overrated
by mncyclone
Key's has decent food, but it is a bit overrated and somewhat overpriced. You do get huge servings, but the quality is hit-or-miss.
- Pros: Huge Servings
- Cons: Poor service
Great breakfast

In my opinion, Keys serves the best eggs benedict in town. Cinnamon roll was tasty and huge -- easily split by our party of three. Great service and atmosphere too. We will definitely go again.
Overrated!
by bizzness295
Keys is so overrated. It is not even close to being the beast breakfast in the Cities. I would go to Al's, SunnySide Up, Egg & I, Sweet Lorraine's, or Our Kitchen way before Keys. The Keys in St. Paul is small and the service is almost always bad. It seems like they hired waitresses who hate to get out of bed and hate breakfast even more. The last few times I have gone have been worse than the time before, so I am afraid to go again, and in fact, the only way I am going is if I am forced. However, I do like all the autographed pictures on the wall.
- Pros: Autographed pictures
- Cons: Food, prices, services
Homestyle good eats!
by v_monkey
Keys has amazing food in HUGE portions. I could live off the Farmers Omlet alone. It's way too much for one sitting, but it makes and excellent breakfast AND lunch! and they have by far the BEST Chicken Ceasar Salad in town. I would definitely reccommend this to anyone looking for a good, inexpensive, home cooked meal!
- Pros: everything
One of our all-time favorites!
by cedarbend
Yes, the portions are huge (I think the banana-pecan pancake falls over the side of the large plate!), but the food is just as delicious as it is generously served. Good coffee, too. It's fun to walk over from the Radisson on deserted Sunday morning streets for a great breakfast at Keys Cafe.
- Pros: Good, good Food, Nice prices, Lots to eat!
- Cons: , Kinda small
Keys is the Place!
by curmbuck
Breakfast 2/8/2004. An independent effort downtown that uses good quality and large portions as its backbone. While the rest of the downtown area sleeps on a Sunday morning Keys quickly fills up and caters to those who are in the know. Highly recommended.
- Pros: Mammoth portions, Home Style Feel
