I've taken my car to autopia a few times and each time I feel that it has been overpriced (labor esp.) and have heard the same from others (ex. almost $600 to replace alternator). Other than that though I've had quick service with good communication, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I brought my 12 yr old Subaru into Autopia last month after neglecting it's upkeep for the last 4 yrs. It had been a heavily used work car for about 8 yrs prior to that.
I'd had some trouble with my latest clutch that Autopia had put in for me in '08, but I put it down to my hardly driving any more.
So I called Dave S and made an appointment for a tune-up.
Once they got my car in they found out the clutch really did have a problem and they replaced it at no charge. They also had the foresight to send my flywheel in to a machine shop to fix some damage the bad clutch had done.
When I got my car back, I couldn't believe it. The WHOLE car is like new again! I really thought my little GT might be on it's last legs. But they managed to turn my poor old dog back into a pup again!
Now I really enjoy driving my car again. And they did it all for a song! For the money I paid, I never expected to get a completely rejuvenated car back. I couldn't be happier.
- Pros: Pros - That's the right word
Great Place to Bring Your Car!
by Feldo at Citysearch
My 19 year old daughter has brought her car to Autopia twice. I was relieved because they took the time to explain everything to her AND they called me before they did anything because they knew Mom was paying for the repairs! They did a great job and I appreciate their respect.
THEY WILL LIE TO YOU-THEY ARE PAID ON COMMISSION

I brought my car in for a oil change for the 21.95 special. They told me that my water pump was leaking onto my timing belt, among many more things with a estimate of almost $2000. They told me that it was so severe that I shouldn't even drive it to work (5 miles away), and that I needed to fix it immediately. My car is under warranty at VW, so I brought it there. They told me nothing was wrong with it.
So, I got paranoid that either a: autopia was trying to rip me off or b: vw didn't want to cover any damage cause my car was under warranty.
So, I brought it to a mechanic with a good reputation and he told me nothing was wrong with it! That 21. 95 oil change cost me $200 because I had to bring it into two other places to have them look at my 'severe car problems'.
The thing is, they talked to me very nicely, and explained 'what was wrong with my car' to me. They got voted #1 by Women's Press which makes me sad. Yes, they talk to women nicely, but they LIE!
- Pros: cheap oil change, the front desk staff is very nice
- Cons: they will try to rip you off
Always great experiance at Autopia!

I had to look up autopias phone number again, as lost it, and don't understand how they could have negative reviews. I have been a loyal customer of autopia in uptown for a couple of years now. I initially came in with one of their 21.95 oil change coupons, and had such a good experience that i have kept coming back. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, my car always comes back fixed right and washed. I would definitely recommend this shop, especially to someone who like me doesn't know a lot about cars, they always take the time to explain what needs to be done in a way I can understand instead of telling me a lot of technical jargon that goes right over my head. i had used a couple of other shops in the area in the past, and either got a surprise bill when I came to pick up my car, or left without an understanding of what was done to my vehicle.this has never happened to me at autopia. Of all my car repair experiances, autopia has been the best!
- Pros: Friendly service, free ride to work, car fixed right and washed!
- Cons: none so far

I Don't understand these bad reviews!

I found this comapny in the Better Business Bearu On-line site. I like to have a recouse if the business does not meet my expectations. I have a 2000 Ford Explorer. Now I am somewhat versed in engines, but i wasn't going to let them know that.
I called them and spoke with Mike. He told me they could tow it in, and get it look at as early as the next morning (understand this was 3 PM when i called). They picked it up that night. I got a call from Mike the next morning. He descibed the issue, and I played dumb. He actually took the time to describe it. Not to mention he offered to show me the problem! I authorized the repairs (yes a little spendy at $955.00 but not much more than other shops) and they got underway.
They got my car done by the next mid-day. Mike was great with follow-up and communcation. I was able to pay over the phone via credit card, and picked it up later in the evening. It ran great, the car was clean, and a detailed invoice was on my seat.
SUMMARY: You might pay a little more to have Autopia fix your car. However, if you have ever had auto repairs before you know you get what you pay for. Mike and his team really did well on my SUV.
- Pros: Great service, fast, and good communication
- Cons: Price is a little high, but you get what you pay for.

Single women beware!
by kateherr at Citysearch
I took my car (in fine working order) in for an oil change here, and lo and behold, they called me later that day to say they'd "found a few issues that should be attended to," including my brake pads, rotors, and CV boots. The total estimate for the work they advised was $1700 (that was WITH a 20% labor discount). I took the car to a different shop a few days later for a second opinion. The second shop told me I'd been given the "single woman estimate." My brake pads, rotors, and CV boots were all in fine condition. The second shop tweaked a few things for a total of $150. I'll take that over $1700 any day- and I'll never go back to Autopia.
- Pros: They give you a free car wash with an oil change.
- Cons: They take advantage of people who don't know cars.

Tthe towing was over priced and ijust wanted to get my car fixed in a short time and they told me they could not get parts for days. So I decided to check on this myself and not only found it but even at an extreem discount. And not to mention less labor rate I feel they wher inflating prices because they were slow NO WONDER WHY
- Cons: Slow, Did not call, very exspensive
