What a great place to grab a cup of coffee!!. Vera's is such a warm and friendly place to grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The food there is tasty and you can just tell it's homemade. They have a way of making their patrons feel like old friends when you walk in. I love that it's locally owned. If you've never been here, you have to check it out!!

Great "Neighborhood" Place... "Gay/Gay Friendly"... Perfect Patio. This is one of my favorite spots! I generally stop in daily, In the summer there is a great patio... and with a very sociable group of regulars, it is not uncommon to get wrapped up in a public debate or conversation. Most of the people there are gay but they are straight friendly ;)

GAY bar?. There's GLBT friendly and then there's h o mo nation. The shirt in the entry says "We serve it hot and full of cream!" There was not a straight person in the entire place. The coffee was acrid and bitter, making Starbucks taste like a latte. Didn't like the Chai either. Will never be back.

Mellow gathering place, which invites reading and conversation.. In Short
Vera's is outfitted with antique-looking tables, ice cream-parlor chairs and velvet and mohair couches. Eclectic decor and comfy furniture make it a restful stop for local office workers and shoppers to stop in for some java and a muffin. The coffeehouse specialized in European coffee recipes and also offers a variety of light fare and a full bakery. Breakfast dishes are served all day.

my 2 cents. even though veras can be extremely hectic, i wouldn't go anywhere else. Its the one place that I can go to sit and read a book, or just hang out with my friends. A very comfortable spot to go to. Its has the REAL coffee shop feel to it.

I find the staff very friendly, especially Quinn.

hmmm. Though sometimes loud and occasionally a hectic place, Vera's has become my favorite place to either people watch with my friends, or read a book and drink a latte alone. Everyone seems to be very sociable, making the place more like a bar without the booze. The staff can be irritable at times, but who wouldn't be when dealing with such a demanding clientele (oh, when we want it our way, don't we just have to have it?). I'm just glad that there's somewhere for me to go, feel relaxed, and feel comfortable.

And have you seen the garden?

Friendly...... This place has great coffee and a wide variety of other drinks. The food menu is pretty large, for a coffeehouse. I'd recommend the omelets, very tasty and big! The patio is probably the best thing about Vera's. If you're not a smoker, you'll want to stay out of the smokers room...it's very smoky. The crowd is mostly gay male, but it seems very welcoming to others.

veras kicks butt. if you havent been to veras, GO... this was the first "real" coffee shop i had been to, that was years ago and i would drive 45 minutes one way just to get here. now i live down the block, cause its conveinent. the atmosphere is awesome (esp. the patio in the summer), the waitstaff is very friendly and talkative (thanks rachel), and the coffee is great ! it's like going "home" everytime i visit. (only w/o the relatives) no place since cafe wyrd have i seen so many sexy gay guys (yeah i know im a girl but eye candy...)

A choice alternative gathering spot. Cozy, warm, bustling and friendly are just some of the words I can use to describe this coffee house located on Lyndale Ave. in Minneapolis. Black and white photo's and whimsical local art adorn the stucco walls. The outdoor courtyard is superb for discourse under the stars. The original gravel floor has been remodeled into a wooden deck. Of course, you can have your choice of beverages from Cappucinno to Chai Tea. A pretty complete snack and sandwhich selection. Caters to the alternative and glbt crowd. Very much a place to see and be seen. The staff are unassuming, hip and helpful. Includes a smoking room for when those nicotine cravings hit.
