A great place for bad service. Both the bar tenders sucked.
SUCKS!. NO GOOD TIMES TO BE HAD HERE...
Was once great - no more. Game Day, playoffs, this used to be THE place to get a good beer and a fair meal. Bartender worked his butt off, the ONE waitress walked around with her head up her rear end, never tried never hustled. I saw 8 tables leave because they couldnt get waited on. HINT: A quick word to them and they prob would have waited for you. We dropped $150 for too expensive beer and food that tasted like a heat lamp. Whoever is running that place has gotten complacent and I seriously doubt we'll be back anytime soon. Better work harder boys!…
Time to relax. Here is my great day off. My husband and I go to Williams, grab a city pages or w/e, walk downstairs, sit at the bar with a pitcher of beer and tons of peanuts and just relax. The bartender downstairs is always nice and friendly and smart enough to leave me enjoy my beer and the paper on a bad day. Great for chattin and just being able to relax with good friends and more beer than you can imagine. I have found the wait staff to be just ok, I really have had much much better service when I have actually sat at the bar. If you choose to go to Williams please just relax and have a good time.…
Good place for great beer!.
William's is a typical college esque bars (e.g. not a place for a first date!). However, it's not a bad place to sit outside and enjoy a good beer admist the pretentious Uptown atmosphere.
We stumbled upon this place b/c we weren't in the mood for the meat market scene (e.g. Stellas, Bar Abilene, et al). It was a breezy, warm summer afternoon and a micro brew while sitting outside sounded great.
The beer was a bit on the expensive side but it is Uptown after all. Don't make the same mistake we did and be ignorant to the fact there are over 100 beers on tap in the basement. Yeah, I found this out a few days after our adventure to William's.…
Absolutely Disgusting. Considering my boyfriend spent all of Valentine's Day throwing up thanks to a burger he ate at this fine establishment the night before, I would definitely not recommend William's. Our complete ditz of a server also spilled a beer on the lap of another person with us and broke the glass which cut her finger. Was her meal or even that beer free? Absolutely not. What I do recommend is that William's cleans up their act before the Health Dept. comes calling.…
Large beer menu, lazy service. I went to Williams to get a few beers and have some food. The beer menu is huge, full of micro-brews. They have the list sorted into where the beer is brewed, which I don't find very helpful. I would have rather seen it broken down into categories of beer so you know what to order. I ended up with a beer that was expired, which tasted awful. A friend and I shared nachos, and I thought they were really good. Not overprocessed like some bar food can be. I thought our server did not do a very good job - we had to wait a while between rounds and to get our check. She just wasn't very helpful or nice. Still, williams is a great place to chill out with lots of beer!!…
This is where the boys are. Williams is always a total sausage fest (hint hint single ladies!). Why? Because they have every beer imaginable up to order and bartenders are quick with them. Because there is no cover to get in. Because it's no frill and the basement bar reminds them of college keg parties, only with the added bonus of peanut shells all over the floor. And because they can play games in the pool room and have audible conversations with their friends. Check it out ladies--and make note that if you aren't a beer drinker, they are prefectly capable of making you a girly shot like a washington apple too!…
Low-key place to hang out with friends. Williams is a really nice, casual, peanut-shells-on-the-floor kind of place to grab a drink and hang out with friends. Their margaritas are a bit on the salty side, but the ambiance is really nice...just get there a little early to stake out a table and a dart board!…
