Disappointed
by fknhippie at Citysearch
Tables are too small, the food was bland and over priced, and the service was extremely slow. No way I'd ever go back.
Unique

Nice alternative menu. The only thing I would change is the coffee policy. Please go back to unlimted refills.
Great food, not your typical bowling alley

The food is fresh and wonderful with many organic ingredients. My party ordered the bison burger, the chicken philly steak, and the latka ratatouille. The rataouille was a great example of how vegatarian food doesn't have to taste bad and bland. This dish is full of flavor. The bison was execellent with a nice fresh taste. Service was good; our waitress was very nice. We went on a Sunday night so we didn't need to fight a crowd and we found parking easily. Will for sure come again to try the ahi tuna!
- Pros: Fresh tasting well prepared good food, organic, wide variety
- Cons: parking is a bit far if you can't find street parking, tight seating areas
Busy but fun!

Just a very cool place to hang out, great atmosphere, with a really interesting (and tasty) menu of free-range/organic foods. Cheap, too!
good atmosphere, spotty otherwise

Be aware that when it is crowded it is very unlikely that you will get the opportunity to eat or bowl. I went on a saturday at 8, interested in drinking and bowling. The tables were all full so we sat at the bar. we were told 1 hr to bowl. at 9:30 we were told it would be at least an hour to bowl. at 11pm, with still an hour+ remaining to bowl we called it quits. by that time some of the tables opened up and it felt more like a bar than a restaraunt. The bartender was kind of indifferent to us. The waitstaff was not friendly in passing at the bar. the crowd seemed a little pretentious.
- Pros: cool place, fun to bowl, parking
- Cons: long wait, staff, crowd
Come for the bowling, stay for the food and entertainment.

In Short
This little storefront bowling alley piles on the extras, with a restaurant, bar, coffeehouse and theater that offers plays, movies, music, dance and performance art. The setting is ultracasual: rickety wooden tables, no art, bowling lanes with original '40s-'60s alley furnishings. Tired old rental shoes, jammed into self-service cubbyholes on the wall, are included in the per-game cost. The restaurant features fresh fish, pad thai and hearty tuna steak and pulled pork sandwiches.
Best Spot in Uptown, dont pass this up!

The Bryant-Lake Bowl is my favorite bar, bowling alley, restaurant, breakfast place, theater venue, and place in uptown. I live in the area and this is the place I love to be! The staff is sweet, sincere, and attentive. The food is amazing! I have dietery allergies and they are always kind and helpful so I can find something to eat and drink, they never fail to impress me. The Bryant-Lake Bowl throws two free Block Parties every summer (their sister restaurant also doe Bastille Day) and offer reasonably priced, delicious, organic, sustainable food, and a free concert to boot. The Bryant-Lake Bowl is a great neighborhood restaurant that really seems to care about their customers, staff, and local community. If I could marry the BLB I would!
- Pros: Great Neighborhood Bar
- Cons: Long wait to bowl on weekend nights
Great Place for Everyone!

I recently went to the Bryant Lake Bowl and found it to be fantastic in every way. My boyfriend who came with me is normally very picky about his food and he ordered the bison philly and he thought it was amazing. I had the organic chicken and it was delicious. I did notice the menu had a wide selection of food that would cater to the masses. I found the staff very friendly. And the atmosphere was very quaint. I highly recommend visiting the Bryant Lake Bowl!!!
- Pros: food, service, atmosphere
- Cons: none
Fun place, great food

My boyfriend and I ate there on a Wednesday night after hearing the food there was good. It was excellent! He had a burger and I had the pesto giglio; both were wonderful. We shared guacamole dip and chips for an appetizer and that was also good, although the onion was quite strong but we both like onion so it was fine. Our server was adorable. Great beer selection, and prices for food and drinks were reasonable. Our bill came out to be about $40, not bad for an appetizer, two entrees, and four beers. Will definitely go back.
Best beer selection in town

This is one of those spots that's just cool with even trying. Interesting menu items, AUTHENTIC retro-cool styling, and one of the best beer selections in town. And cheap date night is an all out steal - two entrees, a bottle of decent wine and two games of bowling? I can't think of a better way to spend a monday evening. if you're a serious bowler, this place is not for you - the lanes, balls, and shoes all look to be original. And all of this attracts a hip and diverse crowd.
- Pros: Beer selection, clientele, atmosphere
- Cons: Bowling Facilities, Long waits for bowlin
