Waiting several mins for someone to sit us and when a man finally showed up he was more interested in answering the phone. We decided to find our own table and told him so, at which point he didn't end the private conversation on the phone he just threw menus at us as we walked by. We waited 10 mins at a table for service, even asking a waitress but they were more busy picking up tips and talking to friends. We left. I've been going to this restaurant since 1989. I'm very disappointed.
- Pros: Great Food
- Cons: Bad Service

A group of three of us came for dinner on a whim tonight, and we were all pleasantly surprised by just how good the food is here. I have been known to be picky, so instead of ordering one entree, we ordered a sampler of hot and cold mezes and split them. It could have easily fed three people, but for two ravenous people it was the perfect meal. The skordalia was amazing--and almost spicy due to how fresh the garlic was. The tzaziki was refreshing both by itself and with the gyro meat. The souvlaki and grilled loukaniko sausages were perfectly cooked and tasted as though they had just come off the grill. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful even when we had three unexpected guests show up to join us. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something fun and a little different.
- Pros: Great food, friendly waitstaff, very accomodating!
- Cons: Parking

We visted as part of a dinner of the month "club" we do with two other couples. None of us had ever been to a greek restaurant, so we can't say if it was authentic, but it was definitely very good and we had a great time. We started of course with a round of Ouzo and the flaming Saganaki cheese dish. The house Ouzo was actually very good with more subtle flavors than I remember from drinking the really really cheap stuff in college. The Saganaki was presented with the right theatrics and we all got to yell "Opa!" It was also delicious. We all ordered a variety of dishes and not a single one was a miss. It was a constant chorus of "mmmm's." We usually don't have desserts, but couldn't resist the descriptions and were all glad we didn't resist. Again everything was deemed delicious, except for one person who didn't like the texture of the shredded filo in their Kadaifi, but I tried a taste and thought it was great. Prices were very reasonable, service was excellent, and it was just lots of fun.
- Pros: Great food, reasonable prices, excellent service, all-around fun
- Cons: None

I have visited It's Greek to Me more times now than I can count. They are centrally located at Lyndale Ave S. and W. Lake St (which admittedly can be a hassle when trying to find a place to park--but it's worth it, believe me!). The food is amazing and it might be best to make reservations, especially on weekends due to the crowd heading to from the nearby theater. Personally, I always like the family dinner (includes appetizer, a huge main meal, dessert and coffee) which is very economical. However, I have enjoyed almost everything I have ever ordered there (ok...so octopus is something that I can live without). There is a full bar with an experienced bartender and there is also a great menu of wines from Greece and elsewhere. The daily specials always are exciting and new, although it can be a bit difficult to read the handwriting sometimes. The servers are very professional, respectful, and friendly (which is a big treat in the Uptown area where some thing that they are doing you a favor by taking your order). This is a great place. Order the flaming cheese and watch your server yell "Opa!" (which is German for "Grandpa!" as far as I know!)
- Pros: Patio, service, value of food, menu variety, Greek wines
- Cons: Parking, very busy on weekends, can be loud on patio with music over sound system
Always fantastic!

We've been to this restaurant several times. It gets crowded but the food is always excellent. I've never ordered anything that wasn't tasty. It could be alot more romantic if they dimmed the lights but the food and service are wonderful!
- Pros: YUM!
- Cons: It has the potential for a more soothing romantic ambience
Great food and atmosphere

I visited It's Greek to Me about a month ago. I'm from Chicago where we have great Greek restaurants. This place was like being in a Greek taverna. I ordered typical Greek food and I wasn't disappointed. The spinach pie was better than I've had in Athens or Chicago. Although I was dining alone I found the staff very friendly and I felt as if I was part of a family gathering. The meal was very affordable so I'm looking forward to my next visit to the twin cities area. I will definitely go back to this fun place.
- Pros: staff was friendly; the atmosphere was very European
- Cons: parking was easy for me but it could be a problem on busy nights
I can get better at Dino's

My husband and I ran an errand uptown this evening and swung into It's Greek to Me on a whim. Boy were we disappointed. The place was empty. My husband ordered a gyro and it looked very blah. It had chicken, half-ripe tomatoes, and white onions on it. A small plastic cup of cucumber sauce was served on the side. He said it was very average. I ordered the vegetarian sampler. The pilaf was nothing more than instant rice with tomato sauce on top. Same with the stuffed bell pepper stuffing--just rice and tomato sauce. The spinach pie was too egg-y. It was just really disappointing. I expect more than Minnesota blah tomato sauce when I go to an ethnic restaurant. I've seriously had better at Dino's. Go somewhere else for Greek food.
- Pros: none
- Cons: bad food, no parking

This is the the first time I've walked out of a restaurant. Came in at 8:30 pm there were two other couples in the place both just about finished with their meals. 20 minutes later no server had come to the table although we could see three of them standing at the register trying to figure out how not to get stuck with us. Since this is the second time this has happened at this place it was time to walk. After a short drive and a couple of minutes wait time I was sitting down with a nice glass of wine at Christos
Best gyros ever!

I loved this restaurant! The service was great, the atmosphere was so nice it made me forget about the rainy weather going on outside, and the food was awesome too, all at a good price! Great selection on the menu, and the tried and true gyros are excellent!
- Pros: great food, great service, affordable prices
Low Quality

Went there on a Friday expecting too much based on the reviews here. First, there was nobody in the place at 9:30pm so could pretty much sit anywhere. Waitress sat us tossed some menus and napkins with silverware on the table to organize ourselves. We ordered water and I ordered some Chardonnay from Calif. She comes back with a mini tumbler of red wine and the waters. I pointed out that I asked for the chardonnay and she corrected it bringing me a dirty shot glass with very bad wine. My dates water glass was dirty as well. So we ordered the calamari to start which they brought out with just lemon to squeeze on it, so I called her back and asked if they have any kind of sauce and she stated that it wasn't normal but she could bring out some yogurt sauce. It was presented in 4 tiny plastic containers to open and pour in a cup yourself. The cooks seem very lazy here which they all were Hispanic and greeted my girlfriend with Ola!! So we tried to eat the blah squid and ate a greek salad with cubed feta and no cucumbers..? I had the Lamb kabobs which tasted good but were small compared to Santorini and was served with overcooked soggy green beans. Save your money and Go to Santorinis instead or Christos.
- Pros: Seating, Lamb taste, fountain outside
- Cons: Presentation, taste, drinks
