Before I explain the torture and trauma of this supposedly renowned salon, allow me to tell you that "TIMOTHY" will BUTCHER YOUR HAIR to the point of no return. Scheduled with TIMOTHY, to correct the color he had given me 2 days earlier that was too dark, THIS MAN LEFT A FULL HEAD OF FOILS WITH "A GENTLE LIFTER" IN MY HAIR FOR ALMOST TWO HOURS WITHOUT CHECKING THE FOILS. After getting shampooed, I was pulling off broken fried chunks of stripped hair that was so damaged by the lifter that the texture of the hair i was pulling off in clumps felt like over boiled angel hair spaghetti. Another stylist who was nearby stared right into my eyes and literally ignored me when I asked what the hell was going on. The manager came over offering me free products like a deep conditioning treatment, meanwhile my hair looked like I just survived a house fire, so jon english can take that worthless deep conditioner and shove it up their.... Anyway, Because of this, I was forced to cut off three inches of my hair because it was so terribly damaged. And, to conclude this AWFUL EXPERIENCE and UNPROFESSIONALISM, TIMOTHY snatches the comb from my hands so that he could confiscate the broken fried clumps of hair that were in the comb since i intended to show it to a manager. Not only did he successfully damage my hair to the point where I can hardly comb through the brittle straw like lifeless remains of it, but he was rude, sneaky and failed to sincerely accept responsibility for what he did to my hair for 190 dollars. My advice, go to your local salon, pay half the price and get 10 times as much out of your hair than whatever jon english has to offer with their ridiculous prices and amateur stylists. and keep in mind that your drunk girlfriend who doesn't know the difference between semi permanent and permanent could do a better job than TIMOTHY AT JON ENGLISH SALON.

Pros: Deceiving appearance.

Cons: Worst Styling ever.

I waited over 20 minutes and no one even bothered to apologize. When I told them I was leaving because I had waited too long, they could care less. They obviously don't care or know how to treat customers.

Cons: Parking, Price, Schedule

I have never found a salon like this one. I refer people all the time. Sometimes I hear from people that they're pricey, but come-on!! we're not in LA or New York where the prices are at LEAST double for this comparable service. Linda English cuts my hair and Seong Heui does my color. Together they are incomparable. The staff here is highly trained, hard-working, and friendly beyond belief. I was there one day when a client was yelling at Seong Heui, (they hadn't been happy with their service) and even though she was out of control, Seong Heui was nothing but poised and professional. I have never seen anything like it. I can't wait to go back. How embarrassing for that client!!

Pros: technically skilled staff, the lolli-pops!!

I have been going to Jon English Salon for 8 years and Lorae has been my stylist the entire time. I have never received more compliments on my hair since seeing Lorae. She is extrodinarily talented and I have never given more referrals than to her. When I first began seeing Lorae, I was the client that said, "I want a change, but don't change my hair." Lorae smiled and did magic with my cut and style. She continues that to this day. She is truly wonderful at what she does and there is no expression of gratitude or appreciation that could equivalate all that she gives to her clients. When you see her, tell her that she is a ROCK STAR!

Pros: Craig -- total cutie and sweetheart. Good people skills

Cons: No on site parking, and no first aide for hair :(

I have been getting my hair cut by Chelsie at Jon English for over four years. I have never had anyone who gives me great cuts so consitently. I literally used to only get my hair cut in NYC and Europe when I traveled for business. This is way cheaper (About $50 compared to over $100) and just as good. Everyone here talks about parking problems, but there is always parking directly behind Kinko's across the street on in the Calhoun Square ramp. The best stylists here are the best in the Cities; even the less experienced ones have been well trained, then trained again by Jon English. The atmosphere is very Uptown - distressed concrete floors juxtaposed with cherry cabinetry, black leather and chrome chairs - but everyone is friendly. The clientele includes the usual salon crowdbut also a few surprisingly conservative clients. All you need to enjoy Jon English is the desire to have great looking healthy hair.

Pros: skilled staff, friendly

I have been a customer for 15 years @ Jon English. I am very confused since they changed their policy about the stylists tips They project the image of "The Best" and the MOST particular--but I cannot leave a tip on my credit card! The confusion is--are we a Classy salon--or one that needs money???

Pros: Great colorists/cutting techniques

Cons: Getting to Pricey. 80.00 per Haircut!

This salon is the bomb.. I always book with Kaela( formely Laurie @Rocco Altobelli Minnetonka), a tried and true aesthetician professional!! Kaela's Aveda trained and Rocco's trained (think MN's version of Vidal Sassoon)and the girl knows mens hair! She won't touch a clippers (unless you ask) and give you the meanest baddest hottest scissor cut you've ever had. But start it out first with the complimentary hot towel facial wrap, relax and let Kaela do her wunder cut! The men's area on the street level of the salon's got great windows out on to the street scene, sony TV for every chair, excellent coffee and magazine selection. Some of this place's stylists may be skipping a beat, but Kaela can work a pair of the shears! Great scalp massage too, and have booked her for a unibrow removal too. The brow service takes place upstairs in service rooms at back of women's salon, but you walk up there with Kaela and you feel totally comfortable. As for the eyebrows...Dont even want to admit to getting them done... But Kaela gets it and you will leave there cleaned up, unibrow free, but still looking like a guy....Parking is what it is.. if your main concern about your haircut is where you're gonna park, go to the Golden Razor at Brookdale........This is a serious cool salon with the Uptown thing and one seriously talented Kaela.

PAULA. PAULA. PAULA. I loved this salon and my colorist. I have jet black hair. I wanted to go lighter. After bringing in some pictures...Paula highlighted my hair. It was the best color i have had in a long time. She does a great job!

Go see Sara Von! I've never had a bad cut from the girl, ever, and I bet she's cut my hair 90 times! She is fun to work with, listens to you and is honest about what to expect! She never tries to talk you into something you don't want (cuts, services, products) and is very knowledgable about hair! She is a sweetheart! Most of the staff is friendly, and make you feel like you are a queen! I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I have been going to Jon English for years. There are several incredibly experienced stylists, but I must admit that Monique Martin is definately the best. She is always a step ahead of trends and is really great at reading what it is that you want. Everywhere I go people ask me where I get my hair done. I am happy to refer people to Monique and the Jon English Salon in general

Pros: Experience, Fun atmosphere

Cons: Parking, High prices
