Ok, i have used parents auto a dozen times. Usually for minor things like oil changes. Last year, my car did not start, so I took it to Parents and they charged me 150 bucks and changed the battery. A week later, the car didn;t start again, and when i called up parents, they said ah the tuning is off. So i took it back there and they charged me 500 dollars to tune the engine. I also got my brake pads and cylinder changed there. This year, when i took my car to a different mechanic with brake problems, they said i needed to change the brake pads again. And two weeks ago, during a regular check up, they said i need to change my battery. Everything that was fixed at parents needs to be fixed up at a different mechanic. I think they are cheats. I will file a BBB complaint against them.

Added services not wanted, most likely did unncessary work

They diagnosed something that was probably not broken and I stupidly did not get a second opinion. They also added several items to the work order that were not requested or approved by me or my wife after getting a written list of things we wanted done. I'm never going back.

Very reliable. Done right, done honestly and done on time. If the work is not worth doing because of the age or condition of the car, they'll tell you and recommend an alternative.
