You will not believe it when you walk into Wild Rumpus Book store to find many live animals running around like cats, dogs, parrots, chickens and more! The children are delighted when they get to visit THIS book store! I really got a kick out of seeing the special small door for children to enter. Yes, it is wild in there but there are so many great books that you can put up with it. The employees are always helpful and friendly which makes for a wonderful shopping trip. If you have not shopped at the Wild Rumpus Book Store, I think that it is time to do just that, with your children, of course! Enjoy!

If Maurice Sendak owned a bookstore, it would look a lot like this charming, kid-centric menagerie.

Kids know to enter through the purple inset door that's just their size, while adults fumble--and then are startled by a scolding from the rooster in the front window. Caged birds squawk and coo, at least two cats compete for customers' attention and a grape arbor looks lifted from the pages of "Where the Wild Things Are." There's a wall of picture books; sections on nature, world religions, creative activities and fine arts; even parenting books for moms and dads.
