I didn't like it

I'm sure if I liked the food items more it would have been better (I'm a chinese food and sushi fan, I thought this would be ok) but the majority of the food looked gross and weird, I didn't want to try it. The few things I did try I thought were kinda icky, didnt think anything was good. This is my own opinion though. After about a 15 minute dining experience, my bf and i left and paid $25 for i dont even know what. This is definitely my personal opinion as the other reviews rave about this place. If you want to try dim sum and you dont want to be disappointed, I wouldnt go here unless you go with a dim sum professional who might be able to help you pick out the items based on what you already do like. Just looking at them didnt help us pick them out.
- Pros: Seating area is comfortable
- Cons: price, staff was kinda odd

I totally disagree with "nirv" in that review. The Yangtze has excellent food, etc. and has won awards for their Dim Sum and Best Asian Restaurant and I think that is more important than one bad review. We have been going to the Yangtze since it opened in 1982 and surely wouldn't have kept such a faithful return if the food and service and ambiance weren't up to par. We go there once or twice a week for either dine in or take out, and Dim Sum at least twice a month. All the staff are very friendly and attentive and go out of their way to be of help. The majority of reviews are giving 4 and 5 stars, so they must be doing something right!
We have been to other Asian restaurants just to compare, but always return to the Yangtze.
- Pros: Everything about the Yangtze is pleasing
- Cons: I can't think of any "cons"
Sub par.

I'm a huge fan of typical Chinese food: Chicken Chow Mein, chicken fried rice and Cream Cheese Won Tons. I tried all of these in 1 trip to Yangtze a few weeks ago and was disappointed because nothing I ordered was better than the Great Pearl in Brooklyn Park. (763) 566-1990‎.
The food was very salty and the cream cheese won tons especially were pretty terrible. They were too hard, small, and difficult to eat. The won tons found at the Great Pearl are the best I've ever had in Minnesota. You can shove an entire won ton dipped in sweet sauce and your eyes will roll into the back of your head because they're so delicious.
Not only was the food at Yagtze below my expectations, but the price was $12 more for the same amount of food at the Great Pearl ($37 compared to $25). So if you want better Chinese food at a lower price, try the Great Pearl. It's located right across the street from Whitle Castle on Zane/Brooklyn Blvd.
- Pros: Good interior, decent location. Polite service.
- Cons: More expensive than others, salty, below average taste.

My family has been going to Yangtze for the last 24 years and has never been disappointed once. We have tried everything on the menu and their Dim Sum is the best in town. Highly recommend their fabulous Spicy House Shrimp, Volcano Chicken and Imperial Beef. Yangtze is GREAT for any occasion.
- Pros: Clean Place,, Generous Portions,, Friendly Service
- Cons: Can't think of one

The Dim Sum on Saturday and Sunday is great! If you are adventurous try the chicken feet.

I have never ever had a bad dish at here! The pan fried noodles are incredible so are their egg rolls and vegetable and tofu soup. The service is always great, you know you are going to have a fabulous meal when you go there!

The food is good, but not anymore special then a regular asian restaurant. The prices are expensive. The service was good, but you can get the same quailty food for way cheaper.
