You call this French food?

I had a terrible experience at Pierre's. The food was bland and the service was poor. We ordered the french onion soup, warm artichokes, baked brie, escargot and duck legs confit. The only thing worth eating was the french onion soup - though it was mostly cheese. The duck was dry and the warm artichokes were like a dip you could get at any chain restaurant. Anyone who has been to a great French restaurant knows that this place doesn't cut it. The service also left much to be desired, my date finished his beer before we were done with the first course and our waiter never asked if he would like another one. Do not eat at Pierre's!

Five Star's for Pierre's Bistro

My wife and I decided to stop for dinner at Pierre's Bistro last Friday. The owner Pierre greeted us as we walked into the restaurant and gave us a nice seat by the window. My wife ordered the Seafood Pasta and a glass of wine. I had the Walleye Pesto soup and the Walnut crusted Walleye with fresh green beans. Both meals were excellent and the service was great. After dinner we moved up to the bar and had a glass of fine wine and chatted with Pierre. I would give Pierre five Star's for his meal and service. We made reservations for Valentine's day and will be back for another great meal.

Best Restaurant in the Twin Cities

Before I dined at Pierres, my impression of French cuisine consisited of three things: overpriced, small portions, and slow. After I sipped the remains of my vanillia latte, and ate my last spoonful of creme brulee, it had dawned on me that Pierre's managed to shatter the steroetypes that served as my foundation for French cuisine . This was by far the most enjoyable dinning experience I've had in the Twin Cities. With a modest, yet classy atmosphere, the servers work extremely hard to get your meals out to you as fast as possible. I felt they were very knowledgable when choosing which wine suited our meal best. The appitizers (puff pastry with brie, and pear salad) were extremely enjoyable. After very generious portions for the entrees, we had the pleasure of enjoying an unbelievable creme brulee. The entire meal was the certainly the most resonably priced for the quality of food we got in the cities. I definitely recommend this restaurant for virtually any occation.

Pros: Service, food quality, atmosphere.

Cons: Only one location.

Traditional, Romantic and Generous Proportions!

My visit to Pierre's was outstanding. The food was better than any other French Cuisine I've had in Minneapolis. The real charm of the place lies in its small, neighborhood atmosphere and friendly staff. My wife had their baked brie rack-of-lamb, and I had the beef tenderloin and apple strawberry salad; both looked and tasted excellent.

What is French for "terrible"?

The food was tasteless and the food presentation sloppy. The pasta and sausage dish that I ordered looked like a microwave dinner. The food did not have any flavor. Until my trip to this restaurant, I didn't know that salt and pepper were apparently prohibited condiments in the french cuisine. I took leftovers home but ended up throwing them away.

After the main course we ordered coffee and dessert. The coffee was cold!

The service was not the best either -- we spent 2 hours at the restaurant -- most of the time waiting for the waiter to come and service us (and the place wasn't even busy). At the end of those 2 hours he suddenly appeared in front of us asking to pay the bill "because his shift was over". How incredibly rude!

The venue wasn't very clean either. You could see durt and dust accumulated on the window cells.

Overall, you get a very strong impression that customers are the last people the restaurant owner and staff care about.

Best French Food in Twin City's

After attending this fine restaurant with my family, I have moved it to the top of my list. Pierre is a delight; he came over and greeted us at our table. The service was stunning, the atmosphere was perfect. We had a bottle of the Cellar #8 and started out with the smoked salmon. I had to order a second one for I have never tasted anything go good! My parents really enjoyed the mussels and mushroom tart. For entree?s we had the Duck Confit (to die for), Olive Salmon and the Lamb special (all fantastic)! Hands down this is my new pick for Best French Restaurant! Thanks Pierre?s for such a great evening, I will never forget it. I can?t wait to come back for dessert! I have heard that the creme brulee is marvelous.

finest French restaurant

From the appetizers to the desserts, everything is exquisite. Warm French rolls straight from the oven, salads splashed with just the right combination of herbs and dressing, and the incredible sauces! I have dined there at least a dozen times and have always received excellent service from the friendly staff and Pierre himself. The shabby chic decor and cozy tables make you feel as though you've escaped the cookie cutter world of Midwest chain dining and landed at a quirky little cafe in Paris. It's romantic and, although expensive, always provides a unique and delightful experience.

Best French Atmosphere

Others can try to immitate a French bistro, but Pierre makes this the real deal. Quaint, quiet and romantic, Pierre's is a great spot to have a romantic dinner or to meet friends.... and if you want real French food... coq au vin, honey duck or duck confit - you have to have it here! I will continue to show this place off to my friends and relatives until I've tried everything on the menu. The service is fantastic. The servers are friendly and professional and if you're lucky, Pierre will be there to greet you.

best food in the city!

I recently dined at Pierre's Bistro and I was very pleased with my overall dining experience. The food was delicious!!! Pierre, (whom I met on my way out) is a true french chef! His housemade sauces are to die for. I had the spinach salad with honey mustard to start. The goat cheese that topped the salad was creamy and fabulously rich. I also tried the pissaladiere which is like a flat bread pizza. It was the best french pizza one could ask for. (better than the pizza's they serve at Salut.) For my entree, I had the roasted chicken breast with caper beurre blanc sauce. The tender chicken melts in your mouth and the beurre blanc sauce was very authentic. I felt like I was in a little restaurant in the heart of Paris. My server was a delight. She was very knowledgable about the food and wine. The server made my dining experience fun. It was also a treat to meet the chef Pierre. I will definitely go back to this cute little neighborhood restaurant.

If you decide to dine at Pierre's, make sure to try the creme brulee for it was the best I have ever had!!!!

lovely food... nice service... every time

Pierre's has the best appetizers in the city... every appetizer or salad I have had ( in approximately 15 visits over the past 2 years) -- has been wonderful. The bar atmosphere is charming and updated and the restaurant warm.

I think the meal price is not $$$$, but $$$ (the value is good).

A hidden gem with real French charm and wonderful food.
