Not Crrect

by payme21 at Citysearch

I had recentely bought a car from an aution and jeff bobby and steves, they had told me all it needed was a battery. So I bought a new battery and the car still wouldnt start up. So they said they could fix it and detected it to be some "electrical" problem and after $330.00 later they said it was fixed they handed the keys over and I went to the car and it didnt even start again!! Went back and the guy said since its been sitting for awhile it needs a jump I said with a brand new battery he said ya went and jumped it and it started up..Drove around the block shut it off and it did the same thing didnt start up again..Brought the car back they said oh we will look at it.. they look at it again and tell me its now the starter..And it would cost another$300. I said forget it... They never fixed it in the first place they just see a way to make more money..I am very disappointed with the service the guys were rude, unproffesional, I didnt even get a thank you...I will never do business and this place again..

Ripoff

by midwestchaser at Citysearch

So back in October '08 I went to Bobby and Steve's to get some work done on the engine to my car. I had an oil leak that was dripping on to the manifold causing the oil to burn and create smoke and a nasty smell coming through the vents in the car, and eventually it got in to all the gears. Ok, so the bill ends up coming to well over $1000. Problem fixed, right? Hell no. Just a few months later in February '09 I take it back in because of something again smoking and the smell coming through the vents, and coming from the same general area as in October '08. I take it back to Bobby and Steve's to have it looked at again. They tell me I need a new PVC pipe for my engine. I think, ok, cool, only $15 and problem solved. Here again not even a month later something is burning again. The work that was done in October '08 is under warranty for 12 months/12k miles, and clearly it is something bigger than just a PVC pipe, a normal car doesnt need to go in every month for a new PVC pipe, something bigger is wrong, and I think it is because of a mistake made in the work done in Oct '08. This makes me think that Bobby and Steve's is just trying to keep me buying a new PVC pipe every month thinking it is fixing the problem everytime until the warranty is up, at which time I'm thinking they would tell me I need to dump another $1000 in to my car, but they wont have to pay for it since it wont be under warranty. Point is, Bobby & Steve's is either tryign to rip me off or they dont know what they are doing, I have a problem with my engine and in 2 trips to them they havent been able to fix it in either attempt. Customer service has been bad as well, they seem like they think they are wasting their time talking to you about getting work done on your car.

These guys are THIEVES!

by richman1975 at Citysearch

On 03/01/09, I called my car insurance, Geico, to ascertain roadside assistance. They contacted Jeff's Bobby & Steve's Auto ("Jeff's") to tow my car from Bally's Total Fitness' parking lot. In the process, they were unable to sucessfully tow the car away to my desired destination. They failed to sucessfully tow my car because they originally sent out the WRONG TYPE of vehicle for the job. Consequently, Jeff's was required to send a second tow truck, one with the adequate equipment, to tow my car. The process was conducted without proper notification or consent for the additional charges they endured. Secondly, as a consumer, it is NOT my fault that they sent out the wrong truck with inadequate equipment. However, under the circumstances (them already in the process of towing my car) to when they called me, I was required to pay the additional charges ($27.75) by duress. This company's practices are unethical and unprofessional. They should not be serving the Twin Cities metro area because they do not properly notify you of any additional charges ahead of time, charge consumers for their own mistakes and refuse to "write off" an additional charges when I requested. This company has been in the business of "ripping off" consumers for a long time now and it is time to put an end to it.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Make consumers pay for THEIR mistakes by charging additional surcharges.

Worst Business in the Twin Cities

by bobbystevesuck at Citysearch

BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION!!!!!!! Do not let them touch your vehicle, unless you want to pay for damage they cause to it. I had a car towed and now have almost $1000 in damages that they deemed natural from towing. This place does not have competent employees and they do not seem to care about offering decent servie. Please tell everyone you know not to use this location for anything.

STAY AWAY FROM JEFF'S BOBBY AND STEVE'S!!!!!!!!

Great Car Wash

by audilover55 at Citysearch

I used to live in Columbia Heights and always liked the car wash at Jeff's Bobby & Steve's. I was in the area and stopped to get a car wash and noticed they had put in new equipment. The wash did a super job and I was impressed they installed new equipment on what I already thought was an outstanding car wash.

  • Pros: Awesome Car Wash and Customer Service
  • Cons: Located on kind of a wierd intersection of 3 roads

I guess they got me real good $3000.00- For a car they claimed was a -state of mn seizure-? It was clean good looking low miles .im a good mechanic 30 years of exp but i did not spot this one.I got about 100 thats one hundred miles on it before all the(stop leak )and block sealer - they put in it -let loose and the heads and engine block spouted antifreeze and oil like a fountain. This is as dirty and low down as you can get in my book, this car needs a compleat engine replacement .How low they go to rip off honest hard working people for thir last dollar.I have no money to fix this.It took me 2 years to save up this cash-I dont know how im going to get to the doctors or work ,im ripped off 3 thousand dollars, real good,How do they get away with this kind of ripoff ? YA they got me real good .

Avoid At All Costs. Worst Estabishment Known to Man!

by Longassday at Citysearch

I'm very sorry.. I worked at this establishment for 6 months and helped a friend for 2 years. There trucks are dot disasters, there employees are Jokes, and the store official Jeff is the most two faced person that you will ever meet. Jeff tells his towing department to try and get as many people back to the shop at "ANY MEANS Necessary!". he even holds a 30 day running total for all drivers Tow backs. At the end of the month hands out a all expenses paid vacation to 500 dollars cash, your pick for reaching the and exceeding your peers at this difficult task. the only way you can do this is to knowingly wrong customers by lying about the service prices and problem, or letting them speak to the shop via phone and getting a misdiagnoses. I never accomplished this task, No i Suggested better and went behind the company's back and brought them to a reliable dealer "Bellands Auto Repair" in Little Canada. the parts are a bit spendy but your getting quality versus Jeff's are bottom of box. labor is all suggested from a national repair guide not an estimate but a national average. all together for the 30 years my family has gone there we got awesome service with a full warranty.

If you Want Known Alcoholics, Narcotics addicts, and Felons responsible for your vehicle and want to be raked through the coals and over priced for HORRIBLE-DISHONEST Service this is the place for you. Jeff will knowingly allow his employees and even himself to work on a Dealer warranty vehicle when he knows the minute the work is started the warranty will be null in void.

I plead and beg you to do better. dot even allow them to tow your car, his company has had more damage claims do to negligence from the towing operators then was necessary. I had two myself due to improper and lack of training.

Best Wishes to those who head my warning.

The Goodyear Crusher.

  • Pros: The Diner Offiliated with this estabishment has great foor and service..

worst place ever

by bigdog112 at Citysearch

I had the a tir rod fall off of my car at my sisters work about 6 blocks away from there shop I called my insurance company and they called bobby and steves to tow it. They preceded to tell me that the whole front end was shot and it would be 1400$ I told them to forget it they charged me 240$ to put the one tie rod in that did fall off, 60$ in parts. I would have never let them touch my car but I was three hours away from my home and my tools. When I got home I had the front end checked only to find out there is nothing else wrong with it. If I would have been a young person not knowing anything about cars I would have gotten screwed. Run away run away. I will never do business with them again not even to but gas,

  • Pros: good towing service
  • Cons: try to charge for work not needed
