Bad Experience

Went with a party of eight. Even though the reservation was made a few days in advance, we still had to wait for over half an hour to be seated. Other parties came in and were seated after only a short wait. I could understand a bit more if the staff was waiting for a large table to open up, but we ended up being seated at two separate tables. There was no apology from the hostess for the long wait nor the poor seating arrangement. Our server was pleasant but forgetful. Maybe he didn't feel the need to be attentive since the 20% gratuity, which was automatically added to the bill, served as a guarantee to him regardless of his below average quality of service. We found the food to be average and none of the eight of us feel this is a restaurant that warrants a return visit.

• Cons: Our reservation was ignored; we were treated badly

Avoid

Very disappointing. We both had salmon, I ordered mine blackened and apparently this doesn't refer to a way to prepare the fish but rather to cover it in dark spices. Returned both plates of the cheese hashbrowns as they were only slightly warm and the second round, though warm, were as bland and taste less as I've ever had. Our waitress was very kind - I felt bad for her. The interior felt very dated - nothing warm or inviting. Take your money elsewhere.

Very Good Sirloin Steak

I have eaten at this particular Timberlodge many times. I always get the first meal I ever had there. It was a very good sirloin steak, The Viking, so good that I haven't even been tempted to try anything else. It was done perfectly, was tender and very tasty. The seasoning was very subtle and let the taste of the meat dominate.
