The price can really fluctuate here so make sure you find a deal - sometimes under $100 / night. The rooms are magnificent. My favorite features are the luxury bathrooms and 4 seasons european beds. They also have a work desk that requires a $10 / night high speed internet. The food is overpriced at the restaurant, but the bar can be nice place to relax late at night.

  • Pros: Value, Bedding
  • Cons: Price can go up

Reservations went fine - booked for New Year's Eve arrived around 6 or 7pm - fantastic location. Valet was too busy talking amongst themselves to realize me sitting there for at least 5 minutes - eventually opted to park in the parking lot. Lazy service compared to more refined places like The Marquette. Ordered a coke when we first got there, waited 25 minutes before we left for dinner - of course we were charged for the coke, which was NEVER delivered. We were also charged for two mini bar items that were never touched - in fact the mini bar was never even checked! Breakfast was about $60 for two people! I would rank this place below average if it weren't for the awesome ambiance and room comfort. The bedding was heavenly. All in all...

Room Service 5 (forgot coke but not the charge, aced breakfast)

Value 6 (overpriced breakfast, reasonable room rate)

Comfort 8 (If door service was a little better this might be a 9)

Business ?

  • Pros: Ambiance; Comfortable bedding; Location
  • Cons: Room service; valet; refinement

In Short
A Seurat-inspired mural is displayed behind the front desk. After checking in, a bellhop leads guests across a broad catwalk that spans the lush garden courtyard. Guest rooms are bright, cheerful and quiet with amenities that include high-speed Internet access, data ports and ergonomic chairs. The comprehensive fitness center features Nautilus equipment and a Hoist Multi-Gym. Getaway packages focus on romance, shopping, jazz and weekend escapes to entice tourists and local romantics.

We stayed at the Sofitel last year during a convention. I was able to get a deal on the rooms, and that's really the only thing that made it worth staying there. The service was really not very good. We did have dinner at La Fougasse one evening, and the food and service there were excellent.

My wife and I have stayed at the wonderful place for many years. It is still an occasion to do so. Only one time when we checked in were we given an inadequate room (very small). As soon as I complained we were moved. Everyone is always very accomodating and welcoming. For us a wonderful weekend trip.

  • Pros: wonderful food, wonderful rooms , fair prices

The room service was exceptional. My wife & I travel the midwest frequently & this is the first hotel we've stayed in that had REAL room service. From the late night snack to breakfast it was very impressive.

  • Pros: Food, Room itself, staff
  • Cons: , construction

Staying at the Sofitel Minneapolis was the best ever. Comfy beds, great service by friendly staff. Spacious rooms with a home away from home feeling. Dinning in the resturants was great. I believe that La Fougasse is a great addition and Chez Colette is as always the great food and service I expect.

  • Pros: Great food, spacious rooms

Chez Collette never disappoints. Try a basket of fresh-baked croissants for a Paris-experience breakfast, a bowl of onion soup and baguette for lunch, or steak and fries for a bistro dinner. And don't forget to stop by the bake-shop.

The weekend specials, particularly Bastille Day and New Year's Eve, are a fantastic value.

  • Pros: elegant, fantastic location, great food
