I'm craving some tots!
by blustoli55
When this place isn't crowded it's awesome! Best bar food in town! Being vegan you don't expect many options from a bar, but here you can get it all! The "Po' Boy' is my favorite, with mock duck and soy cheese. They have good deals during the week, like a veggie dog/burger basket with a pint and fries or tots. Yes, TATER TOTS!!!!
- Pros: Vegan food, jukebox, staff
Apparently punk rock truly has died
by durmembernamerequired
This is the venue that, several years ago, kicked serious a$s. Now it is more of a costumed hipster bar complete with flavor of the week "punk rock." Only punk rock show in the world that I have attended (17+ years on the edge of the scene---I don't need to wear a costume to stick it to the man or display my ideals) where I have been kicked out of a pit for pushing someone. Also the only place to have Propagandhi play an early all ages show. Fail. Fail. And some more fail. Take off your costumes and accept the fact that you love corporate america. pu$sies.
- Pros: moderately priced beverages
- Cons: people still think that halloween costumes punk rock make.
Weekday Fun
by jhill4mpls
During the weekdays this place is great. Good beer, pretty heavy bar food and everything is served with peas. On the weekends the people that go there are just annoying.
- Pros: Jukebox
- Cons: slow service
This West Bank spot offers chi-chi beer, good grub and hard-rawkin' noise.

In Short
A common stop on a Cedar Avenue pub crawl, this pub offers tasty bar food and a beer (especially microbrews and imports--selections change often). The jukebox is well stocked with punk and classic rock records. A mix of scruffy punkers and khaki-clad U of M and Augsburg students frequent the joint on the weekend nights--only to return for the Saturday and Sunday brunch of pancakes, French toast and bloody marys.
a great time!

A friend and I happened upon the place while we were in town working, and wanted to see some live music. We were very pleasantly surprised! The bands were great good-times punk n' roll, the beer selection very good and the clientele not the pretentious hipsters that you'd expect to find at a similar venue in another city. Lots of fun, will definitely be returning when in Minneapolis again!
Nice.

No matter what you think, you are cool enough to go here.
Great menu, all food is delicious and generous. I love the Barbarella, a great hamburger for a place I hear is run by vegetarians.
Try an Old Speckled Hen on tap, one of the few places that serve it on tap in town.
Take your vegan friends here!
Punk Rock Meca
by clark_kent
I'm not from MN, but when I'm up there for a show or visiting a friend, the Triple Rock is the place to go hang out! Here in Iowa it's hard to come by "real" punk things, so it's refreshing to find aplace where I find at home. Heard bands are going to play there soon, and I want my band, The Clark Kents, to be one of them!
- Pros: punk atmosphere, outdoor seating, punk in the jukebox
- Cons: metal in the jukebox, tables are too tall, no single chicks
beer not food
by battistini
I went here for the beer selection and my wife and I were not disappointed. The menu is cheeky and amusing, but the food did not live up to expectations. Mexican food was hopelessly bland, for example. The establishment is small and smoky: seating is a problem. But for Belgian beer, there is only Muddy Pig and Williams as alternatives. One surprising virtue: the (punk) rock music in the background was not at all obtrusive and my wife and I could easily talk.
- Pros: beer selection
- Cons: food, smoky, small
Punk Rock Drinkin'!
by freth
Damn... the only bar in town where i don't feel like a freakin' misfit. Hang out, drink one of the billion beers they serve (maybe poured by Billy himself), and crank Minor Threat and Slayer on the jukebox. The Two For Ones on Tuesday get a little crowded, but it probably adds to the atmosphere.
- Pros: Cheap
- Cons: Pinball sucks
BLITZKRIEG BREAKFAST!
by IIII
I love the Triple Rock for breakfast. There are few places you can order a shot and a beer with your hash at 9am on a Sunday and not get a double take. I recommend the breakfast burrito with a side of tater tots, a bloody mary extra spicy, and 4 bucks in the juke box to bang out Misfits, Minor Threat, and Descendents while you gorge yourself.
Now, when are they gonna do that HOT calendar again!?
- Pros: Cheap Eats, Colourful Clientel, Vegan Options
